Customer Reviews of Electrolux EL520A Trilobite Robotic Vacuum

Summary: I love this thing!
Comment: I recieved the Trilobite as a gift. I love it so much I bought a second and am thinking about buying a 2.0 in the next few months. This tiny vacuum picks up all the dirt on the floor quietly, while I do something else. Senses the stairs, doesn't bang up the walls and furniture and doesn't suck up the lace that drapes on the floor (unlike someone else who used to vacuum).
As a side note if you have a sensitivity to dust you won't know how you ever got along with out it. I have a relative who has a dust allergy, she hasn't had an attack while visiting since I started using the Trilobyte.
The people at Electrolux came up with something marvelous this time around, this is worth every penny!

Summary: I love this thing.
Comment: I love this vacuum! It works great. I have a dyson and I was for sure this would not be as nice but it works great. It's so nice to start it up and go to bed and wake up with clean floors. I bought this right around the time my daughter started crawling, it was nice to start to up when she took a nap and I would just read a book or take a nap myself. Its not loud at all. The only thing I dont like is the filter are pretty expensive, but I get clean them off and use them again. Replacing one every month or when needed.

Summary: Love my Trilobite verses my broken again Roomba
Comment: I bought a Discovery myself to help with my asthma and only used it in my tiled kitchen/family room. A very easy floor to clean. My friends were so impressed 4 of them bought roombas and or scubas.... Well I'm sorry to say that 3 of them as well as I have had irobot replace parts and refurb machines (might I add ... we had no problem with customer service) until the warranty was up...Now they want another 100.00 for another refurb... Not getting it from me! I just bought the trilobite for $437.00 and for one it really SUCKS... not simply brushing the dirt but vacuuming it up. It is a true vacuum not a sweeper like the roomba's. And if you can afford to get real lazy you can get the Karcher RC-3000 RoboCleaner that even has a self emptying feature.

Summary: I love it!
Comment: This thing is great. Is fool proof. I just let it go in my bedroom when I leave for work and when I come home all the dog hair is vacuumed up.

Summary: Trilobite puts Roomba to shame!
Comment: I highly recommend the Electrolux Trilobite. This product is made unbelievably well. I have a Roomba, which died a few weeks ago, and could not believe how much better this vacuum is built. Also, unlike Roomba, this vacuum does not shut off half way through cleaning b/c the battery died. Trilobite goes back to its charging dock by itself and then goes back out to finish cleaning. Unlike a previous review, I have had no problem at all getting the Trilobite to vacuum my whole room (and any other rooms in the house).
I did not pay $1700 for my Trilobite, so if you can find one for cheaper (under $700), I would definitely get one- or two (they get lonely).

More Reviews Ultrasound Navigation. The vacuum cleaner navigates using ultrasound just like a bat. The sonar that emits the ultrasound vibrates at a rate of 60,000 Hz and is coated with a thin gold plate for best performance. The Trilobite has no problem avoiding collision with things placed on the floor for example the dogs water bowl. Special magnetic strips can be placed in doorways and other openings. These act as a wall, keeping the Trilobite in the room. The machine contains sophisticated electronics and four motors one for each driven wheel, one for the brush and one for the vacuum. Automatic Stair Sensor. The new version of Trilobite contains a built-in infrared stair sensor helping it avoid falling down stairs without the need for magnetic strips or "virtual walls". Day/Time Programmability. Trilobite also features a new Day/Time programming feature that allows you to select when you want to clean your floors. Extra convenient for when you know youre not going to be around, but want to make sure the floor gets cleaned. Finds its own charger. The Trilobite can find its own way back to the charger. On a full charge, the machine can clean for 60 minutes. If the cleaning hasnt been completed when the vacuum cleaner needs to be charged, the Trilobite continues cleaning when charging is finished, after about two hours. Once cleaning is completed, the machine returns to its charging station and recharges automatically. Three Cleaning Programs. The Trilobite has three cleaning programs normal, quick and spot. One charge is sufficient for one hours cleaning. Normal: The machine cleans first along the walls and then all open areas. When it scans the wall, the Trilobite creates a picture of the room. The wall phase then forms the basis for calculation of the time required for independent cleaning. Quick: Skips the wall phase and carries out independent cleaning directly. Spot: Cleans an area of approx. 10 sq feet twice.

Choosing Appliance -> Stainless steel bowls
These are the best all purpose bowls for a multitude of applications. Choose a wide range of sizes (be sure to get a large bowl for whipping egg whites and whipped cream). In general, the heavier the bowl, the higher quality.
Choosing Appliance -> Servicing Your Appliance
Buying this "service deal" can be expensive but if you feel happier knowing that you are protected from breakdown for a few years, shop around insurance brokers to see how prices compare.

Useful info -> Granite
Granite is an igneous rock. It is formed as a result of the slow crystallisation of molten magma at depth in the earth's crust. Uplift and erosion has over millions of years resulted in this material outcropping at the surface. The minerals which make up granite are generally quartz, felspars and various mafic minerals (amphiboles, pyroxenes, micas and secondary materials). It is the size, distribution and precise chemistry of these minerals which give the granite it's colour. The silica content of granite should be at least 70%. In the stone industry "granite" has been a term applied to almost all igneous rocks and schists.
