Customer Rating:   Summary: Ok but not great Comment: We bought this as an alternative to our upright Hoover vacuum which we couldn't use in this house since it is too heavy for the soft hardwood floors and scratches them. We live in a small house (950 sqft) and have 4 cats and a toddler and bought this mainly to pick up cat hair and cat litter. Pros: * lightweight (does not scratch soft hardwood floors) and flexible * quiet * cordless * not very expensive * easy to use and maintain * nice design Cons: * mediocre suction (frequently loses stuff, esp. cat litter) * pet hair gets trapped in the brush and the wheels (very annoying!!!) * requires frequent emptying * rapid decline of suction power * does not clean well in corners Before we had this, I used an old-fashioned broom to sweep the floors and it didn't take me that much longer to clean the house. Also, you should consider buying a non-stick silicon sheet: they make baking very easy! Choosing Appliance -> Shopping Washer When shopping for a new washer, look for a front loading (horizontal-axis) machine. This machine may cost more to buy but uses about a third of the energy and less water than a top-loading machine. With a front loader, you'll also save more on clothes drying, because they remove more water from your clothes during the spin cycle. Look for the Energy Star label.
