Customer Rating:  Summary: Cheap price, expensive quality Comment: Bought these as my first set of everyday-use glasses in my first apartment. So far, I've had them for a few days, and I only have good things to say. For 20 dollars, I can't really imagine that you can get a better set than this. I'm surprised by the quality heft the glasses have - the bottoms are heavy and they feel much more expensive than they are. A simple, classy design means that they'll goes well in any kitchen or dining room. I don't imagine they'll survive if I drop one on a floor, but I don't expect that out of my glasses. If handled with reasonable sensitivity, I'm sure these glasses will give you more than your money's worth. The bottom line: - Simple, classy design. - Great heft; they feel much more expensive than they are. - The price is right. With free shipping, I don't imagine there's a better deal out there. (Speaking of which, they were packed well, and I didn't have problems) Customer Rating:  Summary: Need to be thicker glass Comment: I have had them about 4 months now. They tend to break in half when I put them under the ice dispenser of my fridge. So you stand there looking at half a glass wondering where the hell the rest went. Sad yet kind of entertaining in a weird way as you never know when it will happen only that it will. 4 down so far. Customer Rating: Summary: Break Easily Comment: These are nice looking glasses, but they break fairly easily. We've had these glasses for 3-4 months, and in that time about 5 of the tall glasses have broken. They have either broken while being washed by slight banging against other dishes or by being tipped, etc. We have other glasses that have lasted us forever. These just seem to not be durable at all. Especially not recrommended for use with children. We very very rarely use the 8 small glasses. They just take up space. Customer Rating: Summary: Handle with care Comment: Received these glasses from our wedding registry. We choose them because we have children and thought the heavy base would be best to prevent tip overs. During the first year we had been using these glasses, we broke all but 4 (and I'm not holding out hope they will last another 6 months). The glass only needs to be gently tipped over or knocked against another item in the dishwasher and it is cracked or broken. Customer Rating: Summary: Durable & Contemporary Comment: These glasses are thick, durable, and were packaged perfectly for shipping. The price can't be beat! More Reviews With a heavy base and slight flare the design of the Geo glasses is a modern update on a traditional design. The set contains eight 15.5-oz. coolers and eight 13-oz. Double Old-Fashioned beverage glasses. 
Choosing Appliance -> Strainers We recommend 2 strainers for every kitchen. The first is a solid stainless steel colander (one big enough to wash a lot of lettuce at once). The second strainer is a fine mesh conical strainer (called a chinois) which is a must for any serious sauce or stock making. A chinois is an expensive purchase, but with care it will last many years. Choosing Appliance -> Baking sheete Not too much romance here, but essential for any functional kitchen. Useful info -> Dishwashers Don't put up with intrusive machine noise in the kitchen. Most dishwashers are now whisper quiet, 45-49dB being typical. You should still be able to watch the television or hold a conversation whilst the machine is operating. |
