More on this product: Features | Editorial Review | Description
An inexpensive introduction to the delights of rotisserie-roasted meats and poultry, this countertop device is large enough to spit-roast four chickens, a 24-pound turkey, or two 6-1/2-pound legs of lamb. Place the spit through the wire food basket that accompanies the rotisserie, and it will rotate chicken wings, salmon steaks, or other foods through the roasting cycle. At this price you wouldn't expect the rotisserie to be restaurant-sturdy, but it's not flimsy, either. It delivers adequate cooking power inside an enameled-steel case with a tempered-glass door. The heat isn't adjustable, but three spit settings permit normal rotation, pause and sear, and no-heat rotation to keep juices distributed evenly until serving. The unit's three-hour timer can be adjusted while food is cooking and automatically shuts off after the set time. Accessories include a 1-1/2-inch standard basket, a spit holder with an easy loading platform, a 4-quart heating tray with lid, a drip pan, and a liquid flavor injector, as well as barbeque gloves, an instruction video, and an instructions and recipes booklet. The lighted oven makes it easy and fun to watch food cook, while dishwasher-safe nonstick parts provide easy cleanup. Great for four or more people, the energy-efficient rotisserie and barbeque combination unit measures 13 by 14 by 19 inches and carries a six-month limited warranty. --Fred Brack Editor's note: This is a reconditioned small appliance. Reconditioned generally means that the appliance has been returned to the manufacturer, who brings the unit back to like-new condition. Some appliances may contain cosmetic blemishes. Includes a six-month factory warranty. Choosing Appliance -> Plastic wrap An absolute must with a million and a half uses. But do not buy just any plastic wrap. Go to a restaurant supply store and buy a large roll of restaurant plastic wrap. It sticks much better than the common grocery store plastic wrap and is much cheaper per foot. Choosing Appliance -> Mixer Pretty much the same thoughts as the food processor. High quality mixers are great for making bread or other tough jobs. Every kitchen should have one. Be sure that any mixer has all three attachments: paddle, dough hook, and whip. Also, find a spot on the counter where it can be easily accessed at a moment's notice. Factory-Reconditioned Ronco 6000TBFS Professional Indoor/Outdoor Rotisserie, Black Useful info -> Tips Glassware and dishes should be stored in cabinets or shelves near the sink. Frequently used pots and pans could be stowed between the sink and cook top or from a hanging rack. |
