Customer Reviews of Proctor Silex 22605 2-Slice Toaster
Customer Rating: Rating: 1/5Rating: 1/5Rating: 1/5Rating: 1/5Rating: 1/5
Summary: Barely acceptable
Comment: It toasts VERY slowly, and the results are slightly uneven and inconsistent. Dense bread that's stored in the fridge (like bagels) barely brown on the highest setting. I wish I had returned this before the 30 days expired.

Customer Rating: Rating: 3/5Rating: 3/5Rating: 3/5Rating: 3/5Rating: 3/5
Summary: Basic & functional
Comment: Pretty much what you'd expect for a 20 buck toaster. I've only had it a few weeks put already the lever (the one you shove down when you want it to start toating) seems to be getting stuck.
So maybe its not a very good buy.

Customer Rating: Rating: 5/5Rating: 5/5Rating: 5/5Rating: 5/5Rating: 5/5
Summary: Proctor Silex Toaster
Comment: It was relatively inexpensive, and works great. Slots are wide enough for bagels, and toasts quickly. No complaints!

Summary: slow....
Comment: Really slow toaster. Otherwise toasts evenly and nice. Is worth the low price if you are never in a hurry when toasting....I am not happy with it as I usually am in a hurry.

Summary: Great little toaster
Comment: This is one great little toaster! It is a no frills toaster that does just fine making toast evenly- fast enough to please me-and works as good as my last expensive one that finally quit. I replaced it with this one and it is every bit as good. I recommend it to anyone.

Choosing Appliance -> Strainers
We recommend 2 strainers for every kitchen. The first is a solid stainless steel colander (one big enough to wash a lot of lettuce at once). The second strainer is a fine mesh conical strainer (called a chinois) which is a must for any serious sauce or stock making. A chinois is an expensive purchase, but with care it will last many years.
Choosing Appliance -> Range Cookers
The way you cook is also key to deciding which type of range cooker to choose. No-frills heat storage ranges such as Agas retain heat they have gradually built up and generally have two ovens without temperature controls - the hot oven is for roasting and baking, the cool one for slow cooking/keeping warm.

Useful info -> Kitchen Design
By custom, the sink is placed beneath a window, both to provide daylight for chores done there and to give one a view outdoors. I suppose the custom derives from the days before dishwashers, when the task of washing up was a tedious affair done by hand. Yet working at a sink with a window is still much more pleasant than working at a sink without one. Designers often place the sink first and lay out the rest of the work triangle from there
