Customer Rating:  Summary: does what it is supposed to do. Comment: It looks good, it works well, it lives up to kitchenaid's good reputation. Like the other pasta cutters and the roller, it works better if you dust the sheets with flour between rolling and between rolling and cutting. That way everything works smoothly and the strands separate. I don't separate the individual strands of angel hair, but like the manual says, you can make a little nest of it in a baggy and freeze it. When you cook the pasta, stir it while it is first in the water to break apart the clumps, and you will have something good to eat that you know was prepared with care. Customer Rating:  Summary: MAKING PASTA IS EASY Comment: This is a great item and really makes pasta making a breeze. Cleaning the product is relatively easy, no immersion in water so you need a little brush or tool, which for the price of the item should be included. The thin(angel hair) pasta is a good size, but the wider noodle is much wider than fettucini. It was very good but not like fettucini. This attachment works with the pasta roller. The adjustments on the roller determine the thickness of your pasta. I would recommend this product and have used it several times. Choosing Appliance -> Food Processor This is a big ticket item, but worth its weight in gold. It will save so much time when it comes to simple chopping or more advanced preparations like mayonnaise. As with most things, buy quality-- it will last longer, be capable of tougher jobs, and give you less problems. To make the food processor easiest to use, leave it on the counter top instead of storing it in a cabinet. Choosing Appliance -> Non-stick Pans We recommend having at least 1 high quality non-stick saute pan. It makes cooking eggs and delicate items like fish a breeze. Useful info -> Dishwashers A concealed heating element reduces the risk of lightweight plastic items such as children's drinking cups melting onto it after becoming dislodged mid-cycle. Limescale build-up is also prevented. Some manufacturers now produce models with the concealed heating element coiled around the water inlet pipe for further energy efficiency. |
