Customer Reviews of KitchenAid Professional Fruit Slicer, Black
Customer Rating: Summary: None better for the price Comment: Easy to use, although needs a little strength. My wife cannot slice apples with this. Customer Rating: Summary: very good!!!! Comment: This is a very good slicer, helps when you are dealing with lots of apples, like making applesauce, this was the first thing that I used it for, or making a pie, and is very good too when you are just getting one apple for eating, the core almost always came out in one piece, and makes very nice slices too! Customer Rating: Summary: time saver Comment: It would be nice if it didn't get so much apple stuck in the cracks, but it can handle large apples, it's comfortable to use, and it saves a lot of time when making apple pie. Customer Rating: Summary: Wonder tool Comment: I use to hate having to cut up apples for my 6 year old now it's a breeze. My mom bought one from a different manufactor and it can't handle larger apples. This one is the perfect size and cleans up easily in the dishwasher. Customer Rating: Summary: SHMannor Review of Fruit Slicer Comment: I bought this as a gift for my father, after I discovered it to be so useful. Since he eats apples everyday, my dad has found it to be one of his favorite kitchen tools and one of the best gifts he's ever received. More Reviews This fruit slicer cores and slices apples and pears into appealing wedges in just seconds. The simple gadget also greatly reduces the amount of time it takes to prepare fruits for pies or tarts, and is much easier to use than some of the more gimmicky coring/slicing contraptions out there. Equipped with a sharp stainless-steel cutting blade, the slicer fits over any apple with less than a 4-1/4-inch diameter and divides it into eight sections while simultaneously separating out the core. The slicer requires only one swift push downward to execute and a soft-grip rubber handles ensure that the slicer won’t slip out of hands. The slicer has a durable plastic body that won’t show stains, and is safe for cleaning in the dishwasher. KitchenAid offers a hassle-free replacement warranty on this slicer during the first year of ownership and a lifetime limited warranty on it thereafter. --Cristina Vaamonde Choosing Appliance -> Dishwashers Look for models with adjustable baskets and flexible internal layouts for varying load requirements. For example, a tilting upper basket allows large 30cm diameter plates in the lower basket and extra flaps can be raised or lowered to cater for small items or large pans. Choosing Appliance -> Convection Ovens Convection ovens allow you to bake more foods (cookies, muffins, etc.) at once with even browning, but without the need to shift and rotate pans. A convection oven is the same as a conventional oven except a fan is installed in the back interior of the oven. The fan is used to blow and force the heat to circulate in the oven and around the food, thus eliminating the need to rotate and shift pans. In reality, though, even with the most expensive convection ovens, you will still need to rotate your foods, because there will always exist still hot spots in the cavity, because the cavity is small. Don't compare home convection ovens with most commercial convection ovens used by bakers and small food manufacturers, because their commercial ovens are much larger than home ovens and commercial ovens don't have any hot spots and therefore, there's no need to shift and rotate pans.
