Customer Reviews of Cuisinart Nylon Fork with Soft Grip Handle, Black
Customer Rating: Rating: 5/5Rating: 5/5Rating: 5/5Rating: 5/5Rating: 5/5
Summary: A good little fork
Comment: Easy to handle, this fork is the perfect tool for scrambled eggs. It also cleans up well and unlike some longer implements, takes up just the right amount of space in the drawer.

More Reviews Made of lightweight nylon, this double-pronged fork is gentle on stainless-steel and nonstick cookware, yet sturdy enough to hold a roast turkey in place for carving or pierce and lift a beef tenderloin from broiler pan to cutting board. Its nylon construction is heat-resistant up to 450 degrees Fahrenheit--so the sturdy tool can withstand high cooking temperatures without melting. Measuring 13 inches long, the fork keeps hands far away from hot pans, while its soft, rubber-coated handle provides a comfortable and safe grip for slippery hands. For convenience, this fork is dishwasher-safe, plus has an eye for hanging from a toolbar. This Cuisinart kitchen tool is covered by a five-year, limited warranty. --Cristina Vaamonde

Choosing Appliance -> Cutting boards
There seems to be little difference between hard wood and plastic cutting boards from a safety standpoint, as long as they are properly washed and sanitized after each use. Personally, I like the feel of solid wood. One piece of advice--buy large cutting boards. Don't bother with these tiny boards that everyone seems to have in his or her kitchen. They are not user friendly. Once you get down to serious cutting or chopping, the small boards are always woefully inadequate and downright maddening!
Choosing Appliance -> Do I need a dishwasher?
If you enjoy washing by hand, no! However modern machines use less water, detergent and power than ever before and wash hotter using really powerful cleaners giving a hygienic wash result. You can save around 500 hours a year so it is worth thinking about. If you have a small kitchen or live alone, choose a slimline model.

Kitchen tips -> Slicing
When you want to slice foods, such as: onions, celery stalks, potatoes, carrots, etc., hold the items together with one hand and pivot the knife at it's tip and hold the blade at a 95' towards the hand holding the items, always keeping the tip of the knife in contact with the cutting surface
