Customer Reviews of Magnum Peppermill - 6-Inch
Customer Rating: Summary: GREAT GADGET Comment: Love this little Pepper mill. Some people have written that the peppers fall out of the opening, but, if you place your one hand under the opening when turning then you don't have that problem. Highly recommend this!!!! Nothing like fresh pepper. The little tray to place the unit in is a nice touch. Customer Rating: Summary: What a little Gem Comment: Just received this little Gem. It looks really nice and the size is prefect. Like that it holds a lot of peppercorns. The little serving tray is a nice touch. Highly recommend this. Customer Rating: Summary: Don't let the look fool you! Comment: Don't let this simple looks of this pepper mill fool you. It is by far the best pepper mill I've ever used! I've bought many pepper mills including a Peugeot, always looking for a better one. This one is the last one I'll ever buy (OK, maybe I'll buy a couple more like it for other kinds of pepper) because it's so good. The grind is easily adjustable from very fine to very coarse (how I like it) and it holds a large quantity of peppercorns. The output is also remarkable you get more ground pepper in one turn of this mill than in 3-4 of others. Filling is also very simple and quick. Every one who uses a pepper mill should have one of these! Customer Rating: Summary: Pepper Mill Comment: This pepper mill is the best one that I have used. It grinds pepper from the first movement of the head. Customer Rating: Summary: the BEST - worth the high price Comment: I read about this mill in Cook's Illustrated or someplace, and despite my frugality and cheapness, I decided to treat myself to it. Three years later, I am very impressed by this mill's powerfulness: Very ergonomic, and you don't have to exert yourself too much to make it work. Very easy to fill - the easiest one to fill. (I will NEVER go back to the traditional mill!) In a few years, there will be made in China imitations of this one (made in Italy). Black plastic does not look plasticky, rather, looks modern, hefty and elegant, and easy to wipe clean. Again, I think if you wait a few years, there will be a cheaper, good-enough imitation to buy, and you will save money. But I doubt that the knock offs will have the heft, the workmanship, and the beauty of this one. Believe me, I looked for a copycat, but this mill is pretty special! More Reviews The unicorn Magnum is a very fast grinding, easy loading peppermill with an exceptional range of grind sizes. The storage chamber holds over 50 grams of peppercorns, and a serving tray is included to help contain pepper dust. 6" high Choosing Appliance -> Strainers We recommend 2 strainers for every kitchen. The first is a solid stainless steel colander (one big enough to wash a lot of lettuce at once). The second strainer is a fine mesh conical strainer (called a chinois) which is a must for any serious sauce or stock making. A chinois is an expensive purchase, but with care it will last many years. Choosing Appliance -> Shopping Dryer When shopping for a new clothes dryer, look for one with a moisture sensor that automatically shuts off the machine when your clothes are dry. Not only will this save energy, it will save wear and tear on your clothes caused by over-drying. Keep in mind that gas dryers are less expensive to operate than electric dryers. The cost of drying a typical load of laundry in an electric dryer is 30 to 40 cents compared to 15 to 25 cents in a gas dryer. Magnum Peppermill - 6-Inch Useful info -> Granite Granite is an igneous rock. It is formed as a result of the slow crystallisation of molten magma at depth in the earth's crust. Uplift and erosion has over millions of years resulted in this material outcropping at the surface. The minerals which make up granite are generally quartz, felspars and various mafic minerals (amphiboles, pyroxenes, micas and secondary materials). It is the size, distribution and precise chemistry of these minerals which give the granite it's colour. The silica content of granite should be at least 70%. In the stone industry "granite" has been a term applied to almost all igneous rocks and schists. |
