Customer Rating:   Summary: Not very happy Comment: I purchased this because of its high ratings but have been terribly disappointed. If you like to chew your pepper for a while then this may suit you, but pepper the size of peas is not something I want on my food. I'll stick to William Bounds in future. Customer Rating: Summary: LIFETIME warranty Comment: For those of you who have had problems with this mill, I urge you to contact MUI France. This product comes with a lifetime warranty. I emailed them amd explained my problems. They asked for $5 to cover the costs of shipping, which I consider fair and reasonable. Excellent service, I'm glad I emailed them. No more squeaking for me! Customer Rating: Summary: Unfortunate bad news Comment: Perhaps the construction quality has changed over the last 18 months. When I bought this mill in April 2006, it had very high ratings. Rightly so, I though, because I haven't had a single problem with it. It's had daily use since I bought it. I've been through numerous jars of peppercorns. It doesn't produce the "shower" of pepper I see in my dreams, but it's functional and just keeps on ticking. I'm sorry to hear the bad news about peoples problems with it. Customer Rating: Summary: Pain to fill Comment: This grinder is a nightmare to fill. When you take the top off the grinder body has a spring that forces the bottom out so the salt or pepper falls all over the floor.. you have to try to hold in the grinder at the bottom with one finger while trying to pour with the other hand.. I refuse to deal with that for the rest of the grinders life and sent the two I ordered back. At first I thought the one was defective so I tried the other one and they both worked the same.. Kitchen tips -> Pineapple Do not use fresh pineapple in a salad that contains gelatin. The fresh pineapple contains an enzyme that will prevent the gelatin from setting. Use canned pineapple instead. |
