I ordered this item recently simply because it was afordable and made of lead glass (crystal). I was pleasantly surprised with the quality, granted the glass is a bit thick, but that didn't bother me as I need something sturdy and durable. Along with the flutes, I also ordered several sets of the wine glasses and the 10oz water stemmed glass. The glass is very clear and has the distintive crytal sound to it, not baccarat but certainly a great deal for the price.
