Customer Reviews of Gaggia 9004 Syncrony Compact Digital Super Automatic Espresso machine, Silver
Customer Rating: Summary: Good Coffee, not Espresso Comment: I bought this machine to make espresso drinks at home, but instead, I have a very expensive coffee machine that does not make good espresso. The convenience of the machine is wonderful, easy to clean, easy to fill, etc., but since I wanted espresso, I was disappointed. The espresso that it puts out is weak and does not have that espresso bite, but tastes pretty good with hot water added to it to make an Americano. If you want this type of conveinience, this is a good machine, but if you want true espresso, you will have to go with a semi auto and good grinder. Wish I Had! Customer Rating: Summary: Gaggia Syncrony Compact Digital Comment: 100% (super) automatic at the best price, in a form factor that would fit on my counter, were my requirements. The Gaggia Syncrony Compact Digital was the clear winner. Biggest complaints: Vendor intentionally removes a non-essential item from the package before shipping but does not inform customer of this action; and the Operation Manual is poorly written. Great coffee maker. Customer Rating: Summary: Malfunction right out of the box Comment: We waited in great anticipation for this expensive coffee machine to arrive in a week. But the disappointment was intense when the machine could not even get past the warning promt to fill water tank. Nothing worked. The plastic on the machine was flimsy, so unlike the Jura (Impressa 30) which I owned before at a lower price. I am returning it and would not ever consider a Gaggia again due to this first impression quality problem. Never ever. Customer Rating: Summary: Great Coffee!! Quieter Than Our Last Super Automatic! Comment: We had to replace our Saeco Super Automatic after 4.5 years of constant use. It finally wore out. We were happy with it, but wanted our next machine to have additional features. The Gaggia 9004 Syncrony Compact attracted us because it has a smaller footprint and has a single shot doser to allow us to brew other coffees (pre-ground) in the machine in addition to the beans in the hopper/grinder. My wife likes decaf and I like a jolt in the morning. We also liked the fact that this model has a dual boiler instead of a single boiler (one for coffee, one for steam) to make steaming your lattes faster and easier. The digital controls give you extensive control over how your coffee is brewed. You can control temperature, quantity of beans, quantity of coffee dispensed and adjust for water hardness. You can dispense three types of coffee, espresso, normal coffee, & Café Lungo (espresso with extra water added, similar to Café Americano) with a single button press. Press the button twice, and you get a double shot. What has surprised me about the machine is the grinding process is MUCH quieter than our previous Super Automatic. The tamping process produces the same rather loud "clacks" as other super automatics, but the grinder is much quieter and smoother sounding. What are the downsides to this machine? The smaller footprint means a smaller bean hopper and a smaller water reservoir. Not a big deal for us. I wish there had been a better design for the hopper that holds the used coffee grounds after brewing. You have to remove the drip tray to remove the hopper. Seems like an unnecessary extra step. I'll update my review later with comments about durability, since we haven't had it long enough to comment. However, other reviewers give it good marks on other sites fgive it consistently, so I am optimistic. I highly recommend that you do not use oily coffee beans as they will hinder the performance of the machine. Suggest Lavazza Italian "Super Crema" Espresso Whole Beans (2.2 lb bag): FREE SHIPPING as a good starter coffee for this machine. More Reviews The Gaggia Syncrony Compact provides the same ease of use and quality construction as the Syncrony Digital but in a smaller size. The Compact Gaggia Syncrony is a super automatic espresso machine that goes from coffee bean to cup at the touch of a button! The Gaggia Compact grinds the coffee beans, loads the brew group, tamps, brews espresso then disposes the coffee grounds with no skill required. Perfect for home or office; produce exceptional espresso, cappuccino and latte drinks with ease of use and simple clean-up. Choosing Appliance -> Built-in Ovens The standard 60cm oven has been joined by various other sizes. Now consumers can choose from 60,70 and 90cm wide built-in single ovens. Always check the internal capacity shown in litres as well as the external dimensions. Choosing Appliance -> Taps If you want a sink with large bowl dimensions to cope with big-pan washing-up, it is worth considering a tap with a pull-out or pull-down spray rinse. This gives you water anywhere you need it around the bowl area. Gaggia 9004 Syncrony Compact Digital Super Automatic Espresso machine, Silver Kitchen tips -> Too salty soup If your soup becomes too salty when you are preparing it, try adding a teaspoon of sugar and a teaspoon of cider vinegar to combat the saltiness. Another method to try is to add a raw potato to the soup to absorb some of the extra salt |
