I would not recommend it to anyone - It was slow and got stuck every 2 seconds! It has just become available again at a price of $105.00. I am disappointed that I couldn't benefit from the price reduction. That said, the grinder works well, is reasonably straightforward to assemble and take apart for cleaning, and cleans up easily. I am using it to grind beef for hamburgers and meatballs. Nothing fancy such as deer, venison, bear, etc. No bones or sausages. It appears to be a sturdy and well working household appliance. Time will tell about product life. Choosing Appliance -> Stainless steel bowls These are the best all purpose bowls for a multitude of applications. Choose a wide range of sizes (be sure to get a large bowl for whipping egg whites and whipped cream). In general, the heavier the bowl, the higher quality. Choosing Appliance -> Cutting boards There seems to be little difference between hard wood and plastic cutting boards from a safety standpoint, as long as they are properly washed and sanitized after each use. Personally, I like the feel of solid wood. One piece of advice--buy large cutting boards. Don't bother with these tiny boards that everyone seems to have in his or her kitchen. They are not user friendly. Once you get down to serious cutting or chopping, the small boards are always woefully inadequate and downright maddening! Tips How to Maintain Appliance -> Natural Granite Maintenance Granite must not be rubbed with abrasive materials instead, wash with clean warm water to which a non-abrasive light neutral detergent (PH7) may be added. Rinse with clean warm water and dry with a chamois leather or similar. Drainer Grooves can be cleaned using wire wool. |
