Customer Reviews of Oxo Good Grips Serrated Peeler
Customer Rating: Summary: Great value for money! Comment: Very good quality, sharp peeler. Good enough even for ripe fruits! This is the best peeler I've owned! Customer Rating: Summary: Awesome little tool Comment: This little gadget does all that it claims. I have peeled ripe tomatoes and ripe peaches. The skins came off with very little effort. It is one of my better buys. Customer Rating: Summary: An excellent tool at a low pricer Comment: This is one of those simple tools that one takes for granted until the realization comes that small changes make big differences. I'm just ordering my second one now, the first having served a long and honorable career. The addition of very fine serrations to the edges on this peeler greatly improves its performance with thin-skinned or juicy products like tomatoes, peaches, mangoes, kiwi, and the like. Practice with it until your peeling stroke begins with the slightest sideways slide...it only takes a little...and you can make fast work of an otherwise messy and tedious job. If, as one reviewer noted, you have trouble with peel sticking between the blades, try tapering your peeling stroke as it comes to an end. This will cause the peel to taper to a point and fall cleanly from the blade. It just takes a little practice. If I had a bushel of fruit to peel, I'd still opt for a razor-sharp paring knife. But for normal household quantities, or if your skill with a small knife is not all it could be, this is a great addition to the kitchen gadget drawer. Customer Rating: Summary: Serrated great! Comment: So, I've had my share of peelers in my short, 52 year life. I'm not a chef, but a man who likes to cook. I like my gadgets, too. This is one of those things that I don't know how I did without for so long. Somewhere along the way, I got roped into the Y-peelers. Don't get me wrong, I love them and they have their good uses, but this serrated straight peeler is the bomb for making carrot spaghetti strips. It's also easy to clean, replace the blade if it goes bad, etc, etc. I don't know why, but Amazon sent me a second one when I recently ordered it and it will find it's way into one of my relatives kitchens. Too bad I have so many relatives and it's hard to decide who would appreciate it most. Probably the bear of a man that married my niece who loves to cook. He probably already has one. Here's the thing; the serrated blade makes really short work of almost anything you need peeled. It's almost effortless. For under 10 bucks, you can't go wrong. Customer Rating: Summary: Good Grips in more than one way. Comment: I didn't think you could peel things like peppers and tomatoes without blanching or apples without wasting half the fruit but you can with this one. Wish I had bought it years ago. More Reviews Add colorful fruit and veggie curls and swirls to your tantalizing drinks and salads. With speed and precision, this razor-sharp serrated tool smoothly peels both thick- and thin-skinned produce in seconds. Limes, lemons, tomatoes, kiwis, peaches, grapes, and more are no match for the stainless-steel rotating blade. Comfortable, sure-grip processed rubber handle. Dishwasher-safe. 7"L x 1"W x 1" Dia. Choosing Appliance -> Taps Dual-flow mixers provide independent hot, cold or mixed water after leaving the end of the spout. They can be deck-mounted on the sink or pillar/bridge-mounted for a more traditional look. Alternatively, choose a monobloc tap, which is a single-hole fitting that usually has two handles for hot and cold water supply. Choosing Appliance -> Built-in Ovens Ease of cleaning is well worth considering at the outset. Stay clean liners resist dirt build-up but pyrolitic cleaning is the ultimate. It burns off all baked-on debris at 500°C so that all you have to do is sweep out the resulting ash. Look out for ovens with a steam cleaning facility, too, and remember that some ovens have removable inner doors that are easy to clean. Oxo Good Grips Serrated Peeler Tips How to Maintain Appliance -> Natural Granite Maintenance Granite must not be rubbed with abrasive materials instead, wash with clean warm water to which a non-abrasive light neutral detergent (PH7) may be added. Rinse with clean warm water and dry with a chamois leather or similar. Drainer Grooves can be cleaned using wire wool. |
