Customer Reviews of Chicago Cutlery Chilean Cherry Hardwood Cutting Board, 13-1/2-by-9-1/2-Inch
Customer Rating: Summary: nice little board Comment: I ordered this cutting board because of it's size. It fits into my kitchen sink, unlike the other cutting board I own. I have used it numerous times and continue to think that I made a good choice. It washes up quick and looks great! Customer Rating: Summary: Good board for the price Comment: Good board for the price. Inexpensive, nice cutting surface. Could use rubber feet on the bottom but easy to install your self. Customer Rating: Summary: Attractive and handy Comment: Does what it is supposed to do. Look good and be handy for small cutting jobs. Typically, I use the flat side for cutting herbs and do not use the grooved side. I got this along with its larger sibling. Be prepared to apply several rubbed coats of oil before using. I put on four or five coats over the course of a week before using it. Customer Rating: Summary: Just the right size - and price! Comment: I have John Boos counter tops and additional large cutting boards, so I bought this small hardwood board to protect them when I cut onions and beets so that I wouldn't transfer onion to other foods or stain my good boards. The wood is indeed hardwood and stands up to the chef's knife. The grooves help keep the juice from running off and it is just the right size to easily handle when transferring cut veges to the cooking pot. It's a great bargain at $6.99 too! I think I'll buy another one so I have an extra for use on the other side of my kitchen and for those times when there are more than one cook in the kitchen. Love this board! Customer Rating: Summary: very nice product! Comment: Definitely what I needed, this product has an excellent price and it is very convenient and sturdy...makes cooking fun! Definitely recommend it! More Reviews For chopping fresh vegetables for a chef’s salad or slicing a succulent ham, not every kitchen comes equipped with an adequate cutting board. After crafting fine cutlery for 75 years, Chicago Cutlery well understands that chopping tasks demand a proper cutting surface. The Woodworks line provides a variety of attractive yet practical cutting boards to implement the standard kitchen, while also providing the convenience of mobility for the household chef. For medium and small cutting tasks like paring apples, slicing cheese, and mincing garlic, Chicago Cutlery offers this useful prep board. The prep board is crafted from beautiful kiln-dried Brazilian cherry wood. The quality construction not only protects kitchen counters and tabletops from abrasions, but also helps thwart dulling to knife blades. A shallow grooved border collects juices while expediting clean up. Reversible, chefs can opt to use one side of the carving board for meats exclusively and reserve the other side for vegetables, fruits, and breads for enhanced food safety. The prep board also can double as a serving platter for serving hors d’oeurves. For the best care, wash by hand and dry immediately. Soaking and use of abrasives may damage the long-term efficacy and beauty of the prep board. Chicago Cutlery offers a lifetime guarantee for all products in the event of faulty materials or workmanship. The prep measures 13-1/2 by 9-1/2 inches and weighs two pounds upon shipping. --Jessica Reuling Choosing Appliance -> Cutting boards There seems to be little difference between hard wood and plastic cutting boards from a safety standpoint, as long as they are properly washed and sanitized after each use. Personally, I like the feel of solid wood. One piece of advice--buy large cutting boards. Don't bother with these tiny boards that everyone seems to have in his or her kitchen. They are not user friendly. Once you get down to serious cutting or chopping, the small boards are always woefully inadequate and downright maddening! Choosing Appliance -> Taps Dual-flow mixers provide independent hot, cold or mixed water after leaving the end of the spout. They can be deck-mounted on the sink or pillar/bridge-mounted for a more traditional look. Alternatively, choose a monobloc tap, which is a single-hole fitting that usually has two handles for hot and cold water supply. Chicago Cutlery Chilean Cherry Hardwood Cutting Board, 13-1/2-by-9-1/2-Inch Useful info -> Kitchen Tips The optimum location for the cook top is along an exterior wall, rather than on an island or peninsula. With a stove on an outside wall, it's easy to install an effective hood and ventilation system, essential to expel grease, smoke and combustion gases. The stove or cook top needs a 21- to 30-inch overhead clearance so cooks can readily see and access rear burners and the ventilation system can do its work efficiently. |
