Customer Reviews of Chicago Cutlery Metropolitan 3-1/2-Inch Paring Knife
Customer Rating: Summary: Chicago Cutlery Metropolitan 3-1/2-Inch Pa... Comment: I am quite pleased with the knife ... but I seldom use it. My wife, who does most of the cooking is also pleased with it. The handle fits her hand quite nicely (she has a small hand)and also fits mine which I judge to be normal size. It's came sharp, and a few strokes via the "AccuSharp Shear Sharp Scissor Sharpener" puts a new edge on it when needed. Customer Rating: Summary: great paring knife Comment: This was my first Chicago Cutery purchase. I just love this paring knife, and I would purchase other knifes from this company again. I use it just about everyday, sharp, good size, cleans up easy. It is my favorite everyday knife. Customer Rating: Summary: a good buy Comment: I needed something to buy to make the amount for free shipping and I'm glad I got this little knife. It feels good in hand and it was a good price. Customer Rating: Summary: Nice spare... Comment: I bought a Kyocera ceramic paring knife $30 and this is clearly inferior, but this will not shatter when abused and perfect for the job of having two and throwing them on the table for use when you need to cut something right there right now... buy a steel this will need it,...a ceramic steel is best! Great quality really regardless... Customer Rating: Summary: Great knife for the price Comment: Great little knife, was sharp and is well sized. I bought it mainly because of the price as a substitute for one that was used as as a screwdriver substitute at home and the point was damaged. I disliked the handle, I thought they could have used better material. More Reviews Second only to the chef’s knife for versatility, this 3-1/2-inch knife will be the second most used blade in your kitchen. Ideal for trimming, peeling, cleaning, and removing blemishes on fruits and vegetables, its small size and nimble profile excel at any task that prizes delicacy, dexterity, and control. Chicago Cutlery’s Metropolitan line of knives makes an affordable introduction to high-quality kitchen cutlery. Stamped rather than forged for lighter weight and a more reasonable price, the blades are made from high-carbon stainless steel for rust and stain resistance and longer-lasting sharpness. Chicago’s exclusive Taper Grind edge produces impressively precise slices and retains its sharpness well over time; these knives will need to be re-sharpened regularly, but they take an edge beautifully and with regular maintenance can stay out-of-the-box sharp for years. A full tang extends from the tip of the knife to the end of the handle for improved balance and strength. Contoured, ergonomically designed polymer handles feature contemporary styling and are durable and non-porous, so they’re impervious to water and bacteria for increased food safety. Triple brass rivets secure the handle to the blade for extra stability. Chicago Cutlery covers their knives with a lifetime guarantee; they recommend hand-washing and drying for best results. --Mary Park Choosing Appliance -> Taps Dual-flow mixers provide independent hot, cold or mixed water after leaving the end of the spout. They can be deck-mounted on the sink or pillar/bridge-mounted for a more traditional look. Alternatively, choose a monobloc tap, which is a single-hole fitting that usually has two handles for hot and cold water supply. Choosing Appliance -> Hobs If you enjoy eastern cuisine, you can buy a speciality hob with a wok burner. Similarly if you are a BBQ fan, choose a BBQ grill. If you are left handed, go for front rather than right hand side controls as this eliminates the risk of reaching across the heat. If you cook for a large family, more than four rings may be useful, and if you have young children it may be worth considering paying a little extra for a hob guard or in the case of gas, choosing an automatic re-ignition or cut off device should the flame blow out. Chicago Cutlery Metropolitan 3-1/2-Inch Paring Knife Tips How to Maintain Appliance -> Cleaning & Maintenance Oven Never use a scouring pad of any sort to remove stubborn stains or soiled areas, since these pads scratch the finish and any future soiled areas won't clean up as well, especially with the self-cleaning models. When the oven is cool to the touch, place a cloth or sponge, dampened with warm to hot tap water, onto the soiled area and allow it to sit, for about ten minutes or so, to help loosen the soil. |
