Customer Reviews of Covered Saucepan
Customer Rating: Summary: Excellent Value Comment: I have, and have used for about four years now, the 1 qt., 2 qt. with double boiler and steamer inserts, and the 3 qt. pots. Foods stick minimally if at all; they're very easy to clean, and they stay bright. Pots heat evenly; rice is always perfect, and the double boiler and steamer inserts get used often. (Reheating food in a double boiler eliminates overcooking in the microwave.) All pots simmer liquids at steady, low temps with no overheating. Because of their soldered handles, however, I don't think it would be wise to put them into a hot oven for more than a few minutes. Alas, Zabaars in NYC told me today that Leyse is no longer making this line of cookware. I am sorry to hear that, because, for the price, this cookware is a very good value. More Reviews This saucepan has everything a consumer needs: 18/10 stainless steel, heavy duty lids and a 5mm encapsulated aluminum base for perfectly even cooking. ... Choosing Appliance -> Grater In our opinion, the old fashioned box graters work the best since they are sturdy and offer several different grating sizes. Choosing Appliance -> Non-stick Pans We recommend having at least 1 high quality non-stick saute pan. It makes cooking eggs and delicate items like fish a breeze. It also cuts down on the amount of fat necessary to effectively saute. The best place to buy such pans is from a restaurant supplier. Useful info -> Fridge / Freezers No new fridge or fridge/freezer should contain CFCs (chlorofluorocarbons) or HFCs (hydroflourocarbons), which have been linked to the "Greenhouse Effect". However your old fridge may contain them, so please dispose of it thoughtfully. Your local authority should be able to give you some advice and guidelines. |
