Customer Reviews of Nachtmann 5-Arm 11-Inch Clear Crystal Candleholder

Summary: simply beautiful
Comment: It is elegant with simple lines. We light the candles to honor the memory of a much loved deceased family member. This elegant candleholder dignifies our rememberance. We have set it on a Nachman square crysal plate which we dress with simple pine boughs, garden flowers, or whatever is seasonally appropriate. I searched high and low to find a beautifully refined and simple candleholder. We are much pleased with this one.

More Reviews Is a gift-giving occasion imminent? Something classic never goes out of style. Thanks to renowned Bavarian crystal producers, The Nachtmann Company, a contemporary design keeps a classic candelabra form looking sharp. Pairing round shapes with rectangles, skilled craftsmen have produced a stunning effect here with 24-percent, fine-grade lead crystal. A center arm rises 11 inches tall and features a rectangular silhouette with a round top piece in which the taper fits. Around the center arm, rising slightly less high, are four gently curved arms featuring silhouettes that start round at their bases, but flair to squares toward their tops. Round top pieces identical to the center arm's sit atop the four surrounding arms. The candelabra's base is pyramid shaped. A smooth, uninterrupted surface evokes simplicity and sophistication. And with five taper candles included, the perfect gift is found.

Nachtmann artists combine well-honed glass blowing skills with state-of-the-art technology to create each of their pieces. The Nachtmann Company has had over 170 years of experience to perfect its eco-friendly techniques, which make use of pure, high-quality raw materials. The company guarantees each of its creations will be repaired or replaced if obvious defects are reported within 10 days of receipt. Defects not immediately perceptible, such as interior damage, must be reported within six months of receipt for repair or replacement. Betsy Herring

Choosing Appliance -> Convection Ovens
Convection ovens allow you to bake more foods (cookies, muffins, etc.) at once with even browning, but without the need to shift and rotate pans. A convection oven is the same as a conventional oven except a fan is installed in the back interior of the oven. The fan is used to blow and force the heat to circulate in the oven and around the food, thus eliminating the need to rotate and shift pans. In reality, though, even with the most expensive convection ovens, you will still need to rotate your foods, because there will always exist still hot spots in the cavity, because the cavity is small. Don't compare home convection ovens with most commercial convection ovens used by bakers and small food manufacturers, because their commercial ovens are much larger than home ovens and commercial ovens don't have any hot spots and therefore, there's no need to shift and rotate pans.
Choosing Appliance -> Knives
The importance of high quality knives can't be stressed enough! Buy the best you can and expect to spend some serious money. It is better to buy a couple of excellent knives and slowly add to your collection rather than buying an entire set of low quality knives. Start with a chef knife and paring knife. You will also want to buy a sharpening steel.

Kitchen tips -> Onions
  • When selecting, choose firm onions that have dry paper-like skins and that seem heavy for their size. Avoid onions that are soft or spotty and any that have begun to sprout.
  • When cutting onions and only half the onion will be used, use the top half and store the root end. The root end will stay fresh for a longer period of time.
  • Tear saving tips: (Experiment with these tips and see what works best for you!)
    • Slice under running water.
    • Peel the onion, cut in half and let soak in water for approximately 10 minutes before cutting.
    • Store in the refrigerator before cutting so the onion is cold.
    • Light one or two candles in the area you are cutting the onion.
    • Be sure to use a sharp knife.
    • Have a fan blowing the fumes away from you.
    • Try holding your breath while you are cutting the onion.
  • To remove the onion odor from your hands, rub a piece of lemon in salt and then squeeze the juice on your hands, rub the juice in, and then rinse it off.
