Customer Reviews of MIU Stainless-Steel 7-Piece Measuring Cup Set
Customer Rating: Summary: large set, good quality Comment: This is a great set at a great price when I bought it ($19). It is sturdy. the handles have a 3 point rivit. I love all of the sizes-which is why i bought this particular set. You can't find stainless steel at a cheaper price for this many pieces. You will have to make sure that you wash between the handle and the cup as food can get stuck in the little groove. the dishwasher can easily take care of this. These are wider and shallower than my tupperware measuring cups, but you can get used to it. i've never had a stainless steel set before so i don't know if this is the way they are made in general or if it is unique to this brand. it is also true that the smallest two cups don't sit on your counter flat. the handle is the same length as all of the other cups, therefore, the weight makes them tip so that the handle touches the counter. It doesn't bother me because. Tami Customer Rating: Summary: A kitchen tool that measures up!! Comment: This is a good quality set of measuring cups, good weight and feel, not flimsy at all. At first I thought the handles were a bit long-- until I had to scoop sugar out of a canister, or measure and pack brown sugar in a cup all in one move-- then the handle length made sense! I was unaccustomed to having 1/8 and 2/3 and 3/4 measures-- so I had to remember to use them-- rather than filling the 1/4 measure half full, or using the 1/3 measure twice, or using 1/4 three times to makes 3/4. I've washed them up by hand rather than in the dishwasher. Also, when the cups are all stacked up, the handles stick up a bit, which is only an issue if you have them in a shallow drawer. The solution is to use a small black binder clip to hold the handles all together. If you don't have a shallow drawer, or a tight space, this won't matter to you. I'd by these as a gift in a nanosecond-- this set of cups definitely measures up! Customer Rating: Summary: Excellent Product Comment: These are high-quality and heavy duty. I am a pastry cook and use them every day in the restaurant. They are great! Customer Rating: Summary: Poor Handle Weld Comment: Nice set except for the fact the the handle fell off my 1 cuper. I cannot recommend this product. Customer Rating: Summary: I like the weight of these best. Comment: Things I like: 1. VERY sturdy, heavy weight to them, nicely constructed. I think they will last me a lifetime. 2. Includes unusual sizes like 2/3 cup and 1/8 cup. Very handy. 3. Easy to clean, just pop in your dishwasher. 4. Since the measurements are stamped in the handle, you will never guess at the sizes again, like on the plastic ones where the numbers rub off with use. 5. Could be a deadly weapon if you have good aim. Things I don't like: 1. I can't think of a single thing I dislike. More Reviews The ultimate measuring cup set from MIU France. This 7 piece set is a great addition to the kitchen tools in any kitchen. Made from high quality 18/10 stainless steel, the sizes in this set include: 1/8, 1/4, 1/3, 1/2, 2/3, 3/4, and 1 cup. You will not doubt accuracy of your receipe measurments with this measuring cup set. The set is dishwasher safe. Choosing Appliance -> Cutting boards There seems to be little difference between hard wood and plastic cutting boards from a safety standpoint, as long as they are properly washed and sanitized after each use. Personally, I like the feel of solid wood. One piece of advice--buy large cutting boards. Don't bother with these tiny boards that everyone seems to have in his or her kitchen. They are not user friendly. Once you get down to serious cutting or chopping, the small boards are always woefully inadequate and downright maddening! Choosing Appliance -> Convection Ovens Convection ovens allow you to bake more foods (cookies, muffins, etc.) at once with even browning, but without the need to shift and rotate pans. A convection oven is the same as a conventional oven except a fan is installed in the back interior of the oven. The fan is used to blow and force the heat to circulate in the oven and around the food, thus eliminating the need to rotate and shift pans. In reality, though, even with the most expensive convection ovens, you will still need to rotate your foods, because there will always exist still hot spots in the cavity, because the cavity is small. Don't compare home convection ovens with most commercial convection ovens used by bakers and small food manufacturers, because their commercial ovens are much larger than home ovens and commercial ovens don't have any hot spots and therefore, there's no need to shift and rotate pans. MIU Stainless-Steel 7-Piece Measuring Cup Set Useful info -> Energy-Efficient Appliances When you're shopping for appliances, you can think of two price tags. The first one covers the purchase price - think of it as a down payment. The second price tag is the cost of operating the appliance during its lifetime. You'll be paying on that second price tag every month with your utility bill for the next 10 to 20 years, depending on the appliance. Refrigerators last an average of 20 years; room air conditioners and dishwashers, about 10 years each; clothes washers, about 14 years. |
