Customer Rating:  Summary: Very Elegant and Classy and you can buy other pieces separate Comment: I received this white 8 place setting as a wedding gift from my cousin.Highly Highly rated.Its elegant classy and beautiful.I recently bought my house with an empty china cabinet.So this is on display right now. What i also love about this Mikasa parchment set is that you can buy creamers,gravy boat,coffee pot etc separately all at amazon too.so you can really get a large complete set. Shipping was not as great though,2 plates were broken but i didnt return since the box is so heavy so i will buy 2 single plates separately to replace broken ones. Customer Rating: Summary: LOVE IT! GREAT DEAL AND SO PRETTY!!! Comment: I didn't but this from Amazon but I did pay the same price at a retail store. I got 2 settings for my wedding, cause I registered for it. Then a couple years later they put it in this box set and I had to have it! It is such a good deal! Not only do you get 8, 5 piece settings, you get a platter and vegetable bowl. So now I can serve 10 people. I'm thinking of getting another box set so I can serve 18 people!!! For Thanksgiving or Christmas. It is such a beautiful pattern, it's good for all holidays or events! A++ SERVICE - A local retail store sold one place-setting for $39 each plus shipping - by purchasing a set of 8 place-settings (with Amazon FREE SHIPPING!) if you calculate the value of the reduced price of the china - $120.00 ($25 p/p @ Amazon), the serving bowl & serving platter if bought separately, ($0 when purchased with a set of 8) and shipping (we could not pick up china from store - they required all pieces shipped @ $10-$15 s&h fees, we figured we saved well over $300.00 Order was packaged well, insured, and arrived super-quick. If you plan to split the place settings and give as separate bridal gifts, you will need to purchase additional gift boxes. Choosing Appliance -> Grater In our opinion, the old fashioned box graters work the best since they are sturdy and offer several different grating sizes. Choosing Appliance -> Knives The importance of high quality knives can't be stressed enough! Buy the best you can and expect to spend some serious money. It is better to buy a couple of excellent knives and slowly add to your collection rather than buying an entire set of low quality knives. Start with a chef knife and paring knife. Kitchen tips -> Cooking sweet corn Do not add salt to the water when cooking sweet corn because the salt will toughen the corn. Add a little sugar to the water to boost the flavor. |
