Customer Rating:  Summary: Excellent! Comment: Great espresso glasses! Fit well under low riding dispenser. Keep espresso hot without the glass getting hot. Customer Rating: Summary: Perfect for slowly enjoying a cool drink Comment: The size, shape, and insulated quality of these glasses make them perfect for slowly enjoying a glass of cold milk....or beer (however I prefer the 13 oz Bodum Assam Double-Wall Cooler/Beer Glasses, Set of 2 for that). I use these glasses like I do any set of glasses and have not had any problem with breakage, as some have reported. However, I would not drop ice cubes in them before putting the drink in first...they are tall, and the cubes would hit the bottom pretty hard. But then why would anyone want to add ice cubes to a cold drink in these glasses? Customer Rating:  Summary: Too fragile and does not maintain a hot beverage Comment: Set of 2 Pavina 12-ounce double wall cooler/beer glasses I purchased a set of these with the expectation they would keep my morning latte hot long enough for me to drink it. First, one arrived broken and is being replaced. Second, the glass only was able to keep my beverage warm, not hot, for 45 minutes. If you read the description carefully, it first says; "the glass is held together tighter, resulting in a stronger glass" however it goes on to tell you all the ways to "be gentle with the glass". It also says; "These glasses will help to keep hot drinks warmer and cool drinks cooler." But then goes on to say, "For best results retaining heat, pre-heat the glass before use." I only tried a hot beverage and it do not do significantly better than a traditional glass. The glass is attractive but if you are looking for everyday durability, do not get the Bodum double-wall glass. If you are looking for something that will keep you beverage warm longer that a traditional glass, do not get the Bodum double-wall glass. More Reviews Bodum Pavina glasses provide superb insulation for both hot and cold drinks due to their unique double-wall feature. Air trapped between the two walls allow you to hold onto a piping hot glass of espresso without burning your fingers, or prevent condensation from forming on the outer wall while holding a cold beverage. Made of strong yet lightweight borosilicate glass, these glasses can safely go in the diswasher and microwave. 
Choosing Appliance -> Dishwashers Look for models with adjustable baskets and flexible internal layouts for varying load requirements. For example, a tilting upper basket allows large 30cm diameter plates in the lower basket and extra flaps can be raised or lowered to cater for small items or large pans. Choosing Appliance -> Strainers We recommend 2 strainers for every kitchen. The first is a solid stainless steel colander (one big enough to wash a lot of lettuce at once). The second strainer is a fine mesh conical strainer (called a chinois) which is a must for any serious sauce or stock making. Kitchen tips -> Chicken pieces When cooking chicken pieces, start with the dark pieces and then add the white chicken. The dark takes longer to cook than the white, so starting the dark first will assist in the white and dark getting done close to the same time |
