Customer Reviews of George Foreman GRP90WGR Next Grilleration Removable-Plate Grill with 5 Plates, Red
Customer Rating: Summary: Great product Comment: I picked this grill because of the waffle attachments and removeable plates for washing. It is easy to use and very functional with the different plates. I like the fact that you can adjust the angle to drain off the grease or place the grill flat for cooking other types of items. I even baked cookies on it one time. It worked great although you can't fit too many on at a time. I only have a couple of suggestions that would make it better. I don't like the hatching on the upper grill plate as it is difficult to clean. The straight ridges on the bottom plate are really easy to clean, and I would prefer straight ridges on the top as well. I would also like a timer on the grill. I use the timer on my oven, but it would be convenient to set a timer right on the grill. Customer Rating: Summary: recipes please Comment: 'have really liked all the GF things we have purchased...however with this latest grill the G5..IT HAS BEEN ALL GUESS WORK!!!THere is NO recipe book included to get you started..BOOOO But I do like it!!!! Oh, I ended up ordering a recipe book on line for $10. Customer Rating: Summary: Easy to use - Easy to clean Comment: The grill is super easy to use. Very versatile and easy to clean. It does NOT have a large cooking area. If you're cooking for a large group you might want something with a larger cooking surface. The ease of cleaning and exchanging surface plates makes this a terrific product. Customer Rating: Summary: 3 days ago, this product new was only $49...WHAT HAPPENED???? NOW IT'S $122?????????????????????? Comment: I WON'T ORDER IT NOW!!! AN $80 PRICE JUMP UPWARD IN 3 OR 4 DAYS??? WHATS THE DEAL? Customer Rating: Summary: Workhorse with a few flaws Comment: I bought mine a few years ago, when it first came out, to replace the too-small GF grill I had. I find myself using this one almost every day - nothing beats scrambled eggs on toast in the morning, and a hot meal at night! The Pros: Easy to use Easy clean-up, especially with the GF sponges Large padded handle Detachable non-stick grill plates Quick heating and cooking time Durable The included guide has accurate cooking time guidelines You will find uses for it that you wouldn't have thought of when you bought it (like making sauces!) The Cons: The plastic handles on the sides of the grill plates are on the flimsy side The plates don't attach tightly after years of use Uneven heating Breakfast scrambles take about fifteen minutes, if you include eating time. I also like making grilled cheese and tomato sandwiches on it. The few times I tried waffles, the waffles cooked through unevenly, but they were still good. It's also easy to pop off the pans when they are hot and swap in substitutes - for instance, when making grilled chicken with an orange balsamic sauce. I normally just cook for myself, but the grill is a good size for small dinner parties too, especially if you have a toaster oven or warming pan to keep food warm while cooking the next course. As a side note, I take good care of my stuff. I clean the plates and the grill after I come home from work, and have only tossed the plates in the dishwasher once or twice.I would recommend this product to anyone who is a little patient. Choosing Appliance -> Grater In our opinion, the old fashioned box graters work the best since they are sturdy and offer several different grating sizes. Choosing Appliance -> Whip / Whisk Many still consider a whip as a "gourmet" piece of kitchen equipment. Nothing could be further from the truth. It is as essential as a kitchen stove and should be in everyone's kitchen. Nothing works better for mixing a multitude of different preparations or for making sauces or gravy. Buy a solid stainless steel whip with moderately stiff wires. Very thin wires are for mixing delicate things like egg whites or whipped cream. Very thick, solid wires are for mixing stiff dough.
