Customer Rating:  Summary: Meringue in a "Jiffy" Comment: My wife was using our old Mixer to "whipp up" a Meringue for a Coconut Cream Pie (I begin salivating when I tell this story) and it was taking quiet a long time so.........the mixer was replaced with this one, and of course the "Pink" for Her. I can do with Pink if She likes it and....She does! The color isn't the most impressive asset this mixer has, it's the "Ability to Whipp up a Meringue in a very few minuites". "We" like the Digtal display and Seven speeds. Not to be a "Wimp", it mixes chocolate chip cookie dough with power to spare. I love tools and appliances that "WORK" and this one does! The Donations by KitchenAid to Breast Cancer awareness is great also.(you MUST REGISTER YOUR PRODUCT THO) A solid five star rating is Earned! Customer Rating:  Summary: Great while it lasted Comment: I bought this mixer in Feb. 2007 because of all of the good reviews at Consumer Search. It worked very well until June 2008, when the power button died. I do not use the mixer heavily at all, maybe once or twice a month. Given the price, I thought it would last much longer. It lasted just long enough not to be under warranty any longer. I am very disappointed, and I certainly won't spend another $70 for this mixer. Customer Rating: Summary: Cook For The Cure? Comment: Having bought EVERY pink item in the last several months. I was dismayed to discover that none of the money was going to CFTC just because I had bought them. Seems that in VERY small print on the hang tag, there is a disclaimer. You have to go online and register the product. Only then will KitchenAid fork over the Money...... Yes for something as small as a set of measuring cups or a knife, you have to register. Of course I discovered this long after I had thrown away the hang tags. So I went to LOWES and wrote down the UPC from the items they still stocked there. They were out of several items I have and didn't know if they were getting any more. So now I am off to the mall kitchen store. Wish me luck. Oh and SAVE those hang tags. I am posting this same complaint on every kitchenaid item at amazon Customer Rating: Summary: Beauiful! Comment: I bought this to replace my older one. I absolutely love it. It is lightweight and the pink is so pretty. Choosing Appliance -> Food Processor This is a big ticket item, but worth its weight in gold. It will save so much time when it comes to simple chopping or more advanced preparations like mayonnaise. As with most things, buy quality-- it will last longer, be capable of tougher jobs, and give you less problems. To make the food processor easiest to use, leave it on the counter top instead of storing it in a cabinet. Choosing Appliance -> Built-in Ovens Ease of cleaning is well worth considering at the outset. Stay clean liners resist dirt build-up but pyrolitic cleaning is the ultimate. It burns off all baked-on debris at 500°C so that all you have to do is sweep out the resulting ash. Look out for ovens with a steam cleaning facility, too, and remember that some ovens have removable inner doors that are easy to clean. Useful info -> Dishwashers Don't put up with intrusive machine noise in the kitchen. Most dishwashers are now whisper quiet, 45-49dB being typical. You should still be able to watch the television or hold a conversation whilst the machine is operating. |
