Customer Reviews of KitchenArt Pro 2 Cup Adjust-A-Cup, Champagne Satin Finish
Customer Rating: Summary: Good idea, but... Comment: I got one of these after Alton Brown raved about it. I find the outer sleeve tends to slowly, slowly slip down when there are liquid ingredients, resulting in the ingredients oozing or flowing over the device. The other day I wound up with ketchup all over the "adjust-a-cup" as I tried to measure ingredients for a barbecue sauce. I guess this works with dry ingredients, but then, why would you need it for dry ingredients? Customer Rating: Summary: It's easy to clean Comment: If you've always wanted one of these, but have been skeptical about how easy it is to clean, don't worry. It comes apart and can be placed in the top rack of your dishwasher. I've had mine for years, and even though it's not an everyday item, you'll be grateful you have it when measuring out molasses. It's a great gift for the baker in the family. Customer Rating: Summary: Great Item for Measuring! Comment: As much as I like to cook, I don't like cluttering up my kitchen with gadgets that don't earn their keep. This one does! It's very handy for liquids or dry ingredients, having 6 different measuring columns on the sides to measure either dry or liquid ingredients in cups, ounces or ml. The liquids conveniently have that extra grace section at the top so that you don't have to fill to the edge, as you do with the dry ingredients, such as flour. What I especially appreciate it for are the sticky, gooey things like peanut butter, honey, Crisco, molasses, butter, etc. It's incredibly easy to meaure out exactly how much you need; a quick push up from the bottom and the ingredient is completely ejected just where you need it. You can measure as little as 1/8cp or as much as 2 cps. It's easy to clean it afterwards, too. Customer Rating: Summary: Good but not great Comment: It does exactly what you'd think it does. It's actually pretty cool, but so far I haven't actually used it as much as I thought I would. For some reason, I still find a 2-cup measuring cup more useful. Customer Rating: Summary: measuring creamy or sticky stuff? Comment: This is great for measuing yogurt, applesauce, molasses, honey and stuff like that. There is no need to use this for normal liquid or dry stuff but when you work with those other things, you can measure accurately and get it all out. I was inspired to buy this watching Alton Brown use either it or a similar product. Choosing Appliance -> Dishwashers Check the capacity. 'Standard' 60cm wide dishwashers can take 12, 14 or 16 place settings, whilst slimline 45cm models may cater for 7, 8 or 9 place settings. Compact dishwashers tend to be 45 cm wide and can be placed on the worktop or built in, depending on the model. They may take 4, 5 or 6 place settings. Choosing Appliance -> Food Processor This is a big ticket item, but worth its weight in gold. It will save so much time when it comes to simple chopping or more advanced preparations like mayonnaise. As with most things, buy quality-- it will last longer, be capable of tougher jobs, and give you less problems. To make the food processor easiest to use, leave it on the counter top instead of storing it in a cabinet. KitchenArt Pro 2 Cup Adjust-A-Cup, Champagne Satin Finish Kitchen tips -> Onions
