Customer Reviews of Kyocera Double Edged Mandolin Slicer, Black
Customer Rating: Rating: 5/5Rating: 5/5Rating: 5/5Rating: 5/5Rating: 5/5
Summary: works perfectly
Comment: This product is excellent, it's super sharp and works fast. The slices are indeed paper thin. I'd like another one for thicker slices, but if you need paper thin slices, this does the job for you. People say you don't need that plastic hand guard, but I disagree. When you get down to the bottom of the veg you are slicing, it saves your fingers.

Summary: terrific mandoline
Comment: I bought this specifically to make microwave potato chips and I have nothing bad to say about it. The slices are thin (see through) and perfect using no effort whatsoever. I didn't realise how scary sharp a ceramic blade could be! This item is perfect if all you really want to be able to do is make paper thin slices. There is nothing to adjust, it's compact,and easy to clean and store. I highly recommend saving the bubble package for storage as a previous reviewer suggested. Yesterday I even made beautiful cabbage shreds for coleslaw using it, just cut your cabbage into reasonable size sections.

Choosing Appliance -> Do I need a dishwasher?
If you enjoy washing by hand, no! However modern machines use less water, detergent and power than ever before and wash hotter using really powerful cleaners giving a hygienic wash result. You can save around 500 hours a year so it is worth thinking about. If you have a small kitchen or live alone, choose a slimline model.
Choosing Appliance -> Mixer
Pretty much the same thoughts as the food processor. High quality mixers are great for making bread or other tough jobs. Every kitchen should have one. Be sure that any mixer has all three attachments: paddle, dough hook, and whip. Also, find a spot on the counter where it can be easily accessed at a moment's notice.

Useful info -> Kitchen Tips
The optimum location for the cook top is along an exterior wall, rather than on an island or peninsula. With a stove on an outside wall, it's easy to install an effective hood and ventilation system, essential to expel grease, smoke and combustion gases. The stove or cook top needs a 21- to 30-inch overhead clearance so cooks can readily see and access rear burners and the ventilation system can do its work efficiently.
