Customer Rating:   Summary: Broken twice Comment: The item itself is satisfactory - when not in pieces! I ordered thhis other glasses of the same collection twice, and twice over half of them arrived broken. (The packaging is not apt for shipment of a fragile item: there is no buffer, i.e. foam wrapping or bubble paper, to protect the glasses). Between both orders, I managed to complete 4 of this model, but I still only have only 2 of the other type!!! IDM@email.com Customer Rating: Summary: Glasses Comment: I was so excited to find a square glass! I was starting to wrap them and noticed a sound. Yup, a broken glass and no time to get another set. Customer Rating: Summary: Improper packing results in 4 broken glasses Comment: When the first shipment arrived one could tell by the sound of tinkling glass that there was broken glass in package. In fact, two of the four glasses were smashed. This was due to a almost total lack of packaging material. I notified amazon and shipped the order back. A second order arrived in the same condition as the first, that is, with two broken glasses. I have shipped those back and asked for a refund. Comment: After reading a review from someone who said their glasses were broken upon delivery, I made the (idiotic) decision to go ahead and risk it b/c I like the looks of them so much. The first shipment didn't even make it to my house as the local UPS center refused delivery. They could obviously hear the broken glass. In my infinite wisdom, I figured the odds were in my favor, so I re-ordered them. Not a good idea! They arrived broken into pieces. The glasses are shipped in cardboard containers, not individually wrapped or anything. There's a tiny bit of bubble wrap around the cardboard boxes, but that doesn't help. Why would they continue shipping like this when they keep breaking?? Amazon took the return easily enough. Still, pain in the rear. One glass broke in the mail and I had to return all four to get a new shipment. The second shipment had a chip on the rim of one glass, but I didn't want to send them all back and wait for another shipment. Two coats of a good quality silk finish are recommended for durable cover. If your kitchen front is plain you can liven up the room by choosing patterned wallpaper. A light colour will make your room appear larger. Because kitchens are working rooms where moisture, grease and dust collect choose a wipe clean surface such smooth vinyl. Avoid embossed papers as they accumulate dirt, are hard to clean and easily graze. |
