Customer Reviews of Factory-Reconditioned KitchenAid RKV25G0XGR Professional 5 Plus Bowl Lift Mixer, Imperial Grey
Customer Rating: Summary: Great Mixer!!! Comment: I purchased this stand mixer last year and have been happily mixing since. I have used it for cake mixes, thick oatmeal cookie batters, and a few other specialties. I have not used the dough hook. I have had zero problems with it and am glad I did not get the 6QT. 5QT is more than large enough for my use and although it is loud when mixing small amounts or soft batters, you'll see the difference in the strength of mixing in tougher batters. Handles like a dream. I tried to make oatmeal cookies by hand... quit after a few minutes, and promptly dumped the mix into the KitchenAid and it was done in seconds. There was not a scratch or nick on it and had I not known it was refurbished, there is no way I could have guessed (other than the box). I love the color... shows less dust than black or white appliances. Customer Rating: Summary: As advertised Comment: Works as advertised. No blemishes and packaged as if it was new. Works and blends great. Only thing I had to do was adjust the mixer height so that the attachments came closer to the bowl which was easy to do. I think this is the best deal out there for a kitchenaid mixer. Customer Rating: Summary: Why would you buy the lesser models? Comment: This is my second one of these stand mixers. At 475 watts, it's almost 50% more powerful than other models. The 325 watt models (tilt head or lift) are under-powered and you can hear the motor straining at times. This model stands up to even the stiffest dough and operates all attachments (except the grain grinder) with ease. The grain grinder will destroy your mixer and I strongly suggest that you don't buy it. I'm not a fan of the cheap plastic attachments but the metal one's are great. For example, I have both a metal and plastic meat grinder. The plastic one cracked after a couple of years but the metal one is about 30 years old with no problems. Customer Rating: Summary: great purchase Comment: I made pizza dough recently and it works great. The factory-reconditioned is the best way to go. The machine is wonderful and for the value you can't beat it. Customer Rating: Summary: Just what I expected - Great! Comment: I've had the mixer for a month now and it's worked wonderfully so far. I've made bread numerous times without a problem and with little effort. It's as noisy as I would expect a large stand mixer to be (doesn't bother me one bit). More Reviews Choosing Appliance -> Taps If you want a sink with large bowl dimensions to cope with big-pan washing-up, it is worth considering a tap with a pull-out or pull-down spray rinse. This gives you water anywhere you need it around the bowl area. Choosing Appliance -> Built-in Ovens Keen cooks may want to take advantage of multi-function ovens - usually aimed at the top end of the market. As well as traditional cooking, fan or fan-assisted cooking and grilling, these ovens offer up to nine further functions. These include: Top element only (browning), bottom element (final cooking of pastry dishes or pizzas), fan and bottom element (delicate cooking), fan only (thawing).
