Comment: I bought this KitchenAid for my wife. It is replacing a 25+ year old kitchenaid handed down by my mom. I was a little reluctent to order refurbished, but it looks brand new. If not for the label on the box saying it was Factory-Reconditioned, you couldn't tell it was not new. It didn't come with a pour shield, but that was fine with us. We have never had one so we don't know what we are missing. (just pour your flower in slowly and you won't get flower going all over your kitchen.

I would highly recommend this KitchenAid.

Summary: This is the most beautiful PINK appliance ever!
Comment: I did a lot of research on the Kitchenaid's before I purchased this reconditioned one. I was really after the pink I will admit that! My husband had purchased me the Artisian Pink that supports the Breast Cancer Awareness locally from a very popular national retail store that specializes in housewares, he spent over $300 plus tax for it, and it was on sale! Getting it for my Anniversary was a total surprise, so began the research process. The main thing that I was hesistant about was the bubblegum color this appears on the website. Since you couldn't return it I was concerned it would be hideous and the novelty of pink would wear off. I really liked the Accolade because of metal gears, and the 400 watts of power. After e-mails to Kitchenaid directly to help with my research, I decided to go for it! I LOVE IT!!!!! The color is the prettiest shade of pink. The pink is a true pink, **nothing like the picture here!!!** Not only is it a soft true pink, it is done in a wonderful satin finish, it doesn't show anything. The savings - wow! I paid $175 total to get it home!! It was $199 then there was a $25 coupon special on Amazon, no tax, no shipping!

Since there is so much interest in Pink appliances let me also say this is a totally different pink than the Breast Cancer Awareness one. That is a dull dusty pink with a shiny finish. It is a true soft (Princess) Pink. I am very thankful I didn't end up with bubblegum pink (no thanks to the picture!).

I haven't had the opportunity to use it that much, but I will agree with some that complain about the noise. It is loud, but it is also a powerful mixer. Unlike some I don't find myself making every meal with it, but it does comes in very handy when you need it!

I hope my review is helpful, as I think I read everyone's before deciding on the one I got!

Comment: I am so thrilled over my accolade that I bought in Nov.I was so pleased with the condition of it when I received it. It being reconditioned I was a little nervous of what it would look like. It looked great and I was very pleased with the price of it. I would recommend to anyone looking for one of the mixers to go this route. I have had 2 other stand mixers in my lifetime , but they were nothing like this machine. I love using it and the results I get from it. Faye

I was persuaded by the majority of other reviewers on this site that a reconditioned Kitchen Aid would be "just like new". So far - So good! It looks new, and it does the job. And it's heavy enough that it does't slip around on my countertop as my other one did. I bought it at a great price with intentions of using it a great deal in preparations for Thanksgiving and Christmas. Unfortunately, we all have been sick for the duration and most of the cooking/baking has gone by the wayside. I have used it about 5 or 6 times for small projects like a coffee cake, cupcakes, etc. and it works great. It does seem louder than other mixers, but I was prepared for this from reading the other reviews about Kitchen Aid mixers. I had already made up my mind that this would not be an issue with me...and it's not. I am slightly concerned about a high pitched "whine" that I was not expecting and that I'm not sure is normal....not ever having owned a "Kitchen Aid" before. If it's normal, I'm fine with it...I just don't want to ruin it if it is a sign of a problem. Does anyone else know???
I was specifically looking for the Accolade 400 because it had all the features of the *Artisian*, PLUS the "soft start" feature. All in all, I'm pleased with my purchase.
