The quality is exceptional and the variety of both shape and pattern is stunning. Considering the price (under $12.00 at the time) and the fact that they are made in England makes this an unbeatable deal. I am planning to use them with my Spode Blue Italian and Blue Room items for a surprising splash of color at desert time. I highly recommend these plates! Customer Rating: Summary: Dull in Color Comment: The quality of these plates is great--They're nice and heavy and seem durable. However compared to the picture, they're quite dull in color. I was expecting them to stand out and be very vibrant, but they're all a bit ho hum. They're not really orange or red but more a burnt umber and they're all roughly the same shade unlike the picture--making them, well, boring. I paid $13 for these plates and am glad b/c for this price I won't return them. If I had paid a penny more though, they would have to go back. They aren't as high end as some other Spode dishes, but they are worth the price. These are dishwasher and microwave safe, and a perfect size for serving dessert. Comment: After ordering 5 sets of this pattern I was sorry to say that the quality was so poor that I returned them. I have bought several collections of Spode in the past and was very surprised by the change in their quality. Choosing Appliance -> Stainless steel bowls These are the best all purpose bowls for a multitude of applications. Choose a wide range of sizes (be sure to get a large bowl for whipping egg whites and whipped cream). In general, the heavier the bowl, the higher quality. Choosing Appliance -> Food Processor This is a big ticket item, but worth its weight in gold. It will save so much time when it comes to simple chopping or more advanced preparations like mayonnaise. As with most things, buy quality-- it will last longer, be capable of tougher jobs, and give you less problems.
