Customer Rating:   Summary: Nice dishes, poor packaging Comment: I just received this set yesterday. When I picked the package up from the front porch, it sounded like the box contained Lego's. I knew that couldn't be good. I expected to find many broken pieces, based on the rattling sound inside the box. So I was actually quite happy to discover that only one plate had broken. (I know, how wrong is that?) As another reviewer stated, Corelle just put four small plates on top of four larger plates within their box. No padding or protection. Of course they're going to get messed up if shipped. I don't know if extra cushioning (packing material) in the box from Amazon would have helped or not. I kind of doubt it. So I'm out one plate. Not worth the hassle of a return. And I'm really pleased with the set. I wanted some extra dishes for every day use for the kids, and these look to be really good for that. Toss the plastic. Comment: This product was exactly what I was looking for when I wanted to get rid of all the plastic and melamine dishes my kids were eating off of. I did also purchase the lunch plates because the smaller plates in this set, fit a sandwich or toast and that is it. I didn't want the mugs when I was looking to purchase this set but for the value, I opted for the 16 piece set. It turns out the mugs work great and I have a 2 and 5 year old. This way they are not using my expensive glasses and plates. They love having a set of their own. Customer Rating: Summary: fun dishes...... Comment: I ordered 3 sets of these because they looked 'fun'.....I loved the colors and the dot pattern. My order came with 1 broken bowl (Hmmmmmm, Corelle?) and 1 plate that wasn't printed well. I was a little disappointed with the colors- it photographs much more intense than it is and for some reason, I was expecting it to have green in it....it doesn't...just red/orange/yellow & blue. I was promptly issued a new set to replace the 2 damaged pieces- I found that inconvenient as I had to repackage the unused pieces and the original damaged/broken ones and try to get to the post office or I would get charged for another full set. I really like the plates- just wish they had a bit more color, though! Choosing Appliance -> Shopping Washer When shopping for a new washer, look for a front loading (horizontal-axis) machine. This machine may cost more to buy but uses about a third of the energy and less water than a top-loading machine. With a front loader, you'll also save more on clothes drying, because they remove more water from your clothes during the spin cycle. Look for the Energy Star label. Choosing Appliance -> Ladles Look for ladles that are made of one piece of stainless steel rather than a handle and dome which are spot welded together. Tips How to Maintain Appliance -> Cleaning & Maintenance Oven Never use a scouring pad of any sort to remove stubborn stains or soiled areas, since these pads scratch the finish and any future soiled areas won't clean up as well, especially with the self-cleaning models. When the oven is cool to the touch, place a cloth or sponge, dampened with warm to hot tap water, onto the soiled area and allow it to sit, for about ten minutes or so, to help loosen the soil. |
