Customer Reviews of KitchenAid Professional Series Silicone Basting Brush, Red
Customer Rating: Summary: A really good product Comment: This is a great product. The handle is extremely comfortable, and the silicone bristles do a good job of transferring whatever it is you're basting with. Because they're silicone bristles, they don't melt on hot foods. The red color is very striking and matches the red of our mixer and toaster oven very well. Customer Rating: Summary: Brushing aside all others Comment: Since purchasing this brush, it has be a breeze using it to baste. Cleanup is simple - no worries about whether the brush is really clean of sauces, etc., because of the unique silicone brushes. You want to baste? You need this brush. Customer Rating: Summary: Great item!! Comment: This brush works well for basting and I also use it to butter anything. The bristles are soft enough that they will mold around what needs basted or buttered nicely. Customer Rating: Summary: Going to be giving these as Gifts Comment: For years I have used basting brushes and when you wash them you don't get the feeling they are clean. I have thrown them all away and will use my Silicon Brush now. The head screws off to put in the dishwasher, but it is easy to wash so I usually wash it with my pans in the sink. It is soft and pliable and brushes butter and barbecue sauce on just as easily as my old brushes. And with the temperature rating, I can use it at the grill and through the oven door. I am going to give this to all the women on my Christmas list this year. I wish I had bought one sooner. Customer Rating: Summary: Better than bristles! Comment: I've only owned it a few weeks, but I have already used it several times for spreading bar-b-que sauce on meats while grilling. It provides a complete, even coverage of the sauce on the meats, unlike my old brushes that left heavy pockets of sauce or "pushed" the sauce off the meats and onto the coals/grill. It doesn't have bristles to soak up the sauce, so you'll also notice using less sauce than before. Also, I also feel that this item is a lot more sanitary than the old fashioned brushes. There's no more squeezing and pushing the bristles appart to ensure you've cleaned it completely. There's no more shaking the brush to ensure it's dried thoroughly. There's no more wondering if you've completely cleaned the bristles all the way through or if you're creating a safe haven for bacterial growth. This one cleans completely in seconds and dries just as quickly! I highly recommend this item to replace the old fashioned basting brushes - in fact, I'll be grabbing another one with a future order for a family member! More Reviews Choosing Appliance -> Fridge / Freezers By law manufacturers must disclose the energy efficiency of their appliances, rated A to G. These are usually displayed prominently in showrooms. The better the rating, the more energy efficient the appliance is - good for both the environment and your pocket. Choosing Appliance -> Cooking Pans This is another area where spending money is justified. The best pans combine different metals like aluminum or copper on the outside and stainless steel on the inside. Aluminum and copper are valued for their ability to spread heat evenly over the entire pan, and stainless steel is valued for its non-reactive qualities. Buy pans which are heavy and thick with solid handles that are well fastened to the pot. As with knives, buy the highest quality cooking pans you can afford one at a time, starting with a saute pan and a 3 qt. sauce pan. They will last forever. At some point, a stock pot (which will be especially pricey) should be considered for serious cooking. KitchenAid Professional Series Silicone Basting Brush, Red Tips How to Maintain Appliance -> Stainless Steel Maintenance Wipe away any acid spills such as from vinegar or grapefruit straight away. Never clean the bowl or draining board with an abrasive cleaner. Instead use liquid detergent in warm water and wipe with a soft cloth to remove water drop marks. Care for stainless steel appliance fascias and cabinet fronts in the same way. If choosing stainless steel cabinets, a 'brushed' surface is less likely to show grease from finger marks. |
