Customer Rating: Summary: Great Little Spinner Comment: I have been using this little spinner for over 2 years and it works GREAT. I used it daily. It will hold 3 cups of greens, enough for 1 or 2 servings. I even bought a second one to leave at my Dad's house in Florida to use when I am there visiting him. Customer Rating: Summary: Not a very good product Comment: This product is cheap in price and cheap in design. It is a crank spinner and gets caught all the time. It takes forever to spin anything out and is made of cheap flimsy plastic. This is ok if you are only spinning out a few fresh herbs but anything else and it is not useful. I am getting ready to buy the oxo. More Reviews Wash and dry greens in 1 step. Place salad spinner in sink with greens in basket, run cold water into lid, and spin. Use bottom separately as a colander. 4 quart. (9".) White. Choosing Appliance -> Strainers We recommend 2 strainers for every kitchen. The first is a solid stainless steel colander (one big enough to wash a lot of lettuce at once). The second strainer is a fine mesh conical strainer (called a chinois) which is a must for any serious sauce or stock making. A chinois is an expensive purchase, but with care it will last many years. Choosing Appliance -> Salad spinner While some may consider this a bit on the gadgety side, I think it is a must as dressings do not stick to water-logged salad greens. The dark takes longer to cook than the white, so starting the dark first will assist in the white and dark getting done close to the same time |
