Customer Rating:   Summary: Senseo Supreme Coffeemaker Comment: The box/container was in pretty bad shape, but the produt inside was in perfect condition. Shipping was a little slow, but not a problem. The unit works well, but Senseo's customer service is almost non-existant or difficult to locate on the web. Because of the poor on-line service for spare parts, etc. I will probably not purchase another Senseo. This is my third Senseo purchase, but my first Supreme model. Customer Rating: Summary: Awesome Coffee Maker! Couple small issues. Comment: I have been buying coffee at Starbucks for years because of convenience but recently wanted to cut down on costs to save more money which is when I discovered the Senseo line of products. I absolutely love this coffee maker. I can make a cup of coffee for myself in around 90 seconds from start to finish. So far the coffee I have been using is awesome. I have tried cappucino and a dark blend from Senseo as well. The couple minor issues I do have is not being able to fit a tall enough cup underneath the spout where the coffee comes out and also not being able to hold more water in back of the coffee maker. I have heard some complain about the coffee not being hot enough however I do not find this to be the case. Right after my coffee is done it is typically a little to hot to drink and after a 5 to 10 minutes it is at the perfect temperature. I recommend this coffee maker to anyone who wants a quick cup of coffee without the $5 price tag of Starbucks. Customer Rating: Summary: Loved original, hate supreme Comment: I bought 2-3 original Senseos and loved them, recommending them to friends. In May, 2008, I bought the "Supreme." I disliked it from the first, since the JavaOne pods that I liked and used in the original model were too big to fit properly in the Supreme. Today, November 15, 2008, the latch on the Supreme failed. That's about six months after purchase, whereas the original units continued to work until I retired them for various reasons. I continue to recommend the original model. But, I cannot too strongly register my distaste for the Supreme. I urge prospective purchasers to save their money. Personally, I'm replacing the failed Supreme with a Keurig B70. Customer Rating: Summary: Simply the Best! Comment: Fast,fresh and frothy with no waisted coffee. A gourmet cup everytime. Friends can brew their varietal, flavor,decaf in about 20 seconds. "Have it your way" with Senseo at a fraction of the cost per cup. Pods are also in "green" paper filters vs others in plasitc. Love this machine! Customer Rating: Summary: Amsterdam re-visited Comment: We were introduced to this product while on holiday in Amsterdam this summer although we enjoyed coffee made this way in other places i.e. Hong Kong. What a disappointment not to be able to find this in Windsor Ontario. Thank goodness though for Amazaon I have my coffeemaker. And, thank goodness I live on the border so that I can buy my coffee in the US (yes, I delcare it)as I cannot buy it here. This is method is friendlier to the environment as the pods are tossed into the compost not like the K-cups, etc that the other makers use - and I don't know about you but it really doesn't matter how it is marketed, I cannot abide the thought of my coffee coming from a "necter", "syrup", "concentrate", "licquer" - I need to see, taste and smell coffee grounds. Choosing Appliance -> Ovens Most avid bakers prefer separate, even-heat double electric ovens. If that describes you - and you have the space - be sure one of the ovens is equipped with a broiler that provides at least 3,000 watts of cooking power. Also look for racks that pull all the way out and lock in place for safe, easy access to the oven. On the inside, a dark interior shows less baked-on grime, while a porcelain interior is easier to clean Choosing Appliance -> Plastic wrap An absolute must with a million and a half uses. But do not buy just any plastic wrap. Go to a restaurant supply store and buy a large roll of restaurant plastic wrap. Kitchen tips -> Lettuce Dry lettuce and other salad greens before adding dressing by tossing a couple of paper towels with the greens in a large bowl. Once the towels have picked up the excess moisture, pull them out and throw them away |
