I had old stains that other cleaners did not remove, and this detergent DID. I gave a bottle to my son, and he is very satisfied at how it removes pet stains from his carpeting. When we ran out we switched to the "deep-cleansing" cleaner and it did a great job as well but on some old stains they are still visible (although significantly lighter).
