Customer Reviews of Swissmar Hand-Held Muddler #00311
Customer Rating: Summary: Not Long Enough. Comment: While it's excellent in all other aspects, it is just too short for a usual boston style glass tumbler, or a collins glass, or a pint glass for that matter. It's good for a rocks glass but I don't do much muddling in that kind of glass. The macerating end does its job well when it can reach what you want, and I have found a use for this in crushing tomatos for bruschetta. (Saves cleanup from a food processor or blender.) Customer Rating: Summary: Works like a charm Comment: A long rock or a stick could do the job of a muddler, however, finding a long skinny rock isn't easy and sticks get dirty and stay that way. So, you want to mash up limes for drinks? Get this tool and get the job done right. This tool is simple, well made and priced right. Customer Rating: Summary: sturdy and efficient muddler Comment: very effective and sturdy muddler. especially love this particular design for getting to the leaves on the sides of my shaker. Customer Rating: Summary: Come in for a muddle Comment: This is just great. It looks like a work of art, with the brushed stainless and matte black plastic tip. Very functional, too! The black tip is plastic to keep it from scratching up the glass (or shaker), and has bumps to catch and hold the items to crush. The stainless handle is hollow, which you could probably guess, but has no seams, weld marks or other imperfections. It basically looks like it was carved out of a solid block of stainless (only the lighter weight gives it away). Very high quality, and inexpensive too. If you've been using wooden spoon handles, you'll love this. Highly recommended. Sean P. Logue, 2007 Customer Rating: Summary: It works :) Comment: It does the job as it is supposed to. The end in sturdy enough to nicely crush mint leaves (for Mojito :)) but soft enough not to damage the glass. It's very light, but not in a way that would give you the feeling that you will deform it with your hand. More Reviews Choosing Appliance -> Ladles Look for ladles that are made of one piece of stainless steel rather than a handle and dome which are spot welded together. With use, spot welded ladles tend to come apart. Buy several differnet sizes. Choosing Appliance -> Mixer Pretty much the same thoughts as the food processor. High quality mixers are great for making bread or other tough jobs. Every kitchen should have one. Be sure that any mixer has all three attachments: paddle, dough hook, and whip. Also, find a spot on the counter where it can be easily accessed at a moment's notice. Swissmar Hand-Held Muddler #00311 Tips How to Maintain Appliance -> Hob and grill cooking Modern appliances reach higher temperatures quicker - and often hold heat longer. To avoid worktop damage, follow both the appliance manufacturers instructions and these rules:
