More on this product: Editorial Review | Description
A popular collection for fine table setting, the Park Lane collection from Mikasa has the look of elegant eveningwear with a flowing, light-catching design. Crafted from fine crystal, the pattern features graceful flared shaping and sculpted channels from top to bottom. On the wine stems, hourglass silhouettes emphasize the ornate styling, and on the cocktail pieces, heavy shams make a nice counterpoint. All pieces have substantial weight for a rich feel in the hand. A full selection, Park Lane includes goblets, wine stems, highballs, and martini glasses to fully outfit the home bar or dining table. As with other Mikasa crystal, washing by hand is recommended. Choosing Appliance -> Energy-Efficient Refrigerators The EnergyGuide label on new refrigerators will tell you how much electricity in kilowatt-hours (kWh) a particular model uses in one year. The smaller the number, the less energy the refrigerator uses and the less it will cost you to operate. In addition to the EnergyGuide label, don't forget to look for the Energy Star label. A new refrigerator with an Energy Star label will save you between $35 and $70 a year compared to the models designed 15 years ago. This adds up to between $525 and $1,050 during the average 15-year life of the unit. Choosing Appliance -> Cutting boards There seems to be little difference between hard wood and plastic cutting boards from a safety standpoint, as long as they are properly washed and sanitized after each use. Personally, I like the feel of solid wood. One piece of advice--buy large cutting boards. Don't bother with these tiny boards that everyone seems to have in his or her kitchen. They are not user friendly. Once you get down to serious cutting or chopping, the small boards are always woefully inadequate and downright maddening! Tips How to Maintain Appliance -> Natural Granite Maintenance Granite must not be rubbed with abrasive materials instead, wash with clean warm water to which a non-abrasive light neutral detergent (PH7) may be added. Rinse with clean warm water and dry with a chamois leather or similar. Drainer Grooves can be cleaned using wire wool. |
