Customer Reviews of Good Chemistry Salt and Pepper Shakers
Customer Rating: Rating: 5/5Rating: 5/5Rating: 5/5Rating: 5/5Rating: 5/5
Summary: Witty and easy to use
Comment: Of course, I purchased these Salt and Pepper shakers because they are so cute and witty. Aside from smiling every time I need some NaCl or Pepper, it's cool to hear friends say, "Best S+P Shakers ever!" here are a few things to note, in addition to the cool looks:

- The salt shaker only has 1 hole, but salt comes out very easily
- The shakers have rubber plugs in the bottom that are very secured, but with a little leverage they came out easily enough
- They are stable enough to perch easily atop my stove ledge

Summary: fun-ny
Comment: I disagree with C.G.'s supposition that this product is aimed at science nerds. It's aimed at anyone with a sense of humor who understands that pepper's "formula" is intentional malarkey. That's what makes it ~funny~. That said, with honest respect, I think the seller should get C.G's permission to use her review officially. The combination would be truth-in-advertising genius. I love it.

More Reviews Spice up your life with a little good chemistry. This amusing set of salt and pepper shakers is anything but formulaic, although a basic knowledge of the periodic table helps the joke.

Choosing Appliance -> Strainers
We recommend 2 strainers for every kitchen. The first is a solid stainless steel colander (one big enough to wash a lot of lettuce at once). The second strainer is a fine mesh conical strainer (called a chinois) which is a must for any serious sauce or stock making. A chinois is an expensive purchase, but with care it will last many years.

Tips How to Maintain Appliance -> Maximize the efficiency of appliances
You can also maximize the efficiency of appliances you already own through regular maintenance and tune-ups and system upgrades. Examples of some things that you can do are:
  • Check air filters in heating and cooling systems monthly during the seasons they are in use and clean and replace them as necessary.
  • Clean air vents, baseboards, and radiators regularly and keep them unrestricted by furniture, carpets, or drapes.
  • Release trapped air from hot water radiators once or twice a season by opening the valve until nothing but water comes out.
  • Follow prescribed maintenance (e.g., maintaining certain water levels in steam heat systems).
  • Install an insulating jacket on your hot water heater, insulate hot water pipes, and lower the water heater temperature.
  • Clean refrigerator coils yearly and maintain internal temperatures between 36 degrees F (2.2 degrees C) and 38 degrees F (33 degrees C) for the refrigerator compartment and between 0 degrees F (17.8 degrees C) and 5 degrees F (15.0 degrees C) for the freezer compartment.
  • Move the refrigerator if it is currently located near the stove or dishwasher.
  • Regularly defrost refrigerators that do not have a completely automatic defrost capability to eliminate ice build-up on interior coils.
  • Clean dryer filters after each use or as necessary.
