Customer Rating:   Summary: Rustic Tablewear Comment: I purchased two sets of these through Amazon toward the end of summer as I was fixing up my new kitchen/home. The package arrived within four business days with the free shipping- which is a plus. However, during the shipping, my two salad plates were shattered due to the fragile nature of ceramics. These plates were even wrapped excessively in bubble paper, however they still shattered. Thankfully, Amazon sent me not only two new salad plates, but two new full sets since they can't ship a single piece of a collection. As for the aesthetics, I truly love the plates and bowls. The dinner plates and salad plates are plenty wide and also deep. The colors should compliment anyone's earth toned, or warm colored kitchen. Each of the plates and bowls have a slightly unique glaze, making them look hand crafted and very original. I never put the dishes in the dishwasher, although I'm sure it is safe to do so. One just needs to be careful when cooling the dishes, for that's when they will break. Only rapid cooling (boiling water to ice bath) would stand a chance in breaking the plates, however. As for the mugs, I'm not a huge fan of having handles on my glasses, but I am not a coffee nor hot tea drinker. I'm assuming most people wouldn't mind the handles at all. All in all they are quite expensive, yes, but worth the investment for someone who wants sophisticated, unique tablewear. However modern machines use less water, detergent and power than ever before and wash hotter using really powerful cleaners giving a hygienic wash result. You can save around 500 hours a year so it is worth thinking about. If you have a small kitchen or live alone, choose a slimline model. Choosing Appliance -> Ovens Most avid bakers prefer separate, even-heat double electric ovens. If that describes you - and you have the space - be sure one of the ovens is equipped with a broiler that provides at least 3,000 watts of cooking power. Also look for racks that pull all the way out and lock in place for safe, easy access to the oven.
