Customer Reviews of Kyocera Adjustable Mandolin Slicer, Black
Customer Rating: Summary: Great Little Slicer Comment: I have had this slicer for over a year and use it quite often. Onions, potatoes, garlic, carrots, and zucchini are just some of the things I have used this for. It's great for slicing garlic thinly for drying. Soft foods such as mushrooms are better off sliced in an egg slicer. Tough-skinned foods like green peppers take some care to slice. The guard is a real PITA to use. Be careful! It can thinly slice your fingers just as easily as a clove of garlic. :0 I like the adjustable thickness and the notches to hold the slicer on the edge of a bowl. Just as sharp today as when it was new. When done with it, just put it in the dishwasher. A must-have in my kitchen. Customer Rating: Summary: Kitchen Must-have Comment: I use this product nearly daily, and in fact "wore out" the first one and this is a replacement. Slices onions perfectly for salads, and slices citrus, and vegetables wafer thin. A great addition to any kitchen. Very sharp...be careful! Customer Rating: Summary: Cuts everything with ease, including finger tips. Comment: This slices things very easily. Apples so thin you can see through them. Within that size slice, there are six layers of skin on the middle finger. It was just as easy to slice a digit as a potato. Be VERY careful with this. The vegtable holder is annoying, but not as annoying as typing sans finger for a month or so. Customer Rating: Summary: I love this slicer Comment: The 3mm size is perfect for slicing cucumbers for salads. It is EXTREMELY sharp and had managed to stay that way despite the fact that I use it often. It slices most firm vegetables with ease. Tomatoes can be problematic especially if soft. Super hard vegetables like carrots can be sliced with patience and care. Customer Rating: Summary: Would not buy it again Comment: I would not buy this item. Bought to slice carrots for salad. You need to hold carrots with bare hands, otherwise it will not slice it. Bends when you press on it. The thing to hold the carrot the white one on the picture is going off the track, lots of wasted food after you done. Expensive! More Reviews short description Choosing Appliance -> Ovens Most avid bakers prefer separate, even-heat double electric ovens. If that describes you - and you have the space - be sure one of the ovens is equipped with a broiler that provides at least 3,000 watts of cooking power. Also look for racks that pull all the way out and lock in place for safe, easy access to the oven. On the inside, a dark interior shows less baked-on grime, while a porcelain interior is easier to clean Choosing Appliance -> Built-in Ovens Keen cooks may want to take advantage of multi-function ovens - usually aimed at the top end of the market. As well as traditional cooking, fan or fan-assisted cooking and grilling, these ovens offer up to nine further functions. These include: Top element only (browning), bottom element (final cooking of pastry dishes or pizzas), fan and bottom element (delicate cooking), fan only (thawing). Kyocera Adjustable Mandolin Slicer, Black Kitchen tips -> Lettuce Dry lettuce and other salad greens before adding dressing by tossing a couple of paper towels with the greens in a large bowl. Once the towels have picked up the excess moisture, pull them out and throw them away |
