It's not only beautiful and atractive it is also very versatile, and seem to me that the glass jars are sturdy enough. I use it very often and the spices are fresh and give a very good flavor to my dishes. The rack revolves smoothly. At first, I thought that the bottles were going to start falling from the rack when revolving, but it hasn't happen to me once in all this months. I'm very happy and grateful that my husband chose this beautiful item as a gift for me. I would like to find some empty bottles exaltly like this ones for the herbs I grow and dry myself. I thought this spice rack would be a good housewarming gift , as she loves to cook! Well, it was the best gift I had ever given her apparently ,as she has raved about it ever since and remarks how easy with the swivel action to find what you need in a hurry !{ time is of the esscence for her as you can imagine}so I would reccommend this spice rack to anyone with limited space and or time!!! Customer Rating: Summary: Attractive and Functional Comment: The spice and herb selections were traditional and well chosen, the spice jars were not fragile, the carousel turns, the jars don't fly off when you turn carousel, the spices have been fresh. The original packaging was sturdy and attractive if you're thinking of gifting this item. I think the labels could fade if you rubbed them, but I don't see a need to rub them. I see other Olde Thompson spice and seasoning items at major retailers, which is reassuring and will allow me to coordinate in the kitchen when I replace salt & pepper shakers or related items. As a middle of the road shopper, I doubt that I'd have paid more for enhancements like metal or wood construction in the carousel or jar lids. I never give a 'perfect' rating, but this product is just fine. More Reviews This 16 jar spice rack is out of this world! Choosing Appliance -> Mixer Pretty much the same thoughts as the food processor. High quality mixers are great for making bread or other tough jobs. Every kitchen should have one. Be sure that any mixer has all three attachments: paddle, dough hook, and whip. Also, find a spot on the counter where it can be easily accessed at a moment's notice. Choosing Appliance -> Cutting boards There seems to be little difference between hard wood and plastic cutting boards from a safety standpoint, as long as they are properly washed and sanitized after each use. Personally, I like the feel of solid wood. One piece of advice--buy large cutting boards. Don't bother with these tiny boards that everyone seems to have in his or her kitchen. Kitchen tips -> Cut raw meat When trying to cut thin slices or strips of raw meat, it is easier if you put the meat into the freezer for 30 minutes to an hour before cutting to help firm up the meat, or if the meat was frozen, slice it before it is completely thawed |
