Customer Reviews of Börner V-Wave Waffle Slicer
Customer Rating: Summary: Perfect Cut Every Time Comment: This is an awesome cutter, we have taken them several places and now are getting them as gifts for friends because they loved it so much. it is true that there is no safety holder, but i just throw away the last 1/2 inch or so because even the safty holder doesn't get much closer than that. but still be careful because it is razor sharp. Customer Rating: Summary: Excellent slicer Comment: This is an excellent, high quality slicer. I agree with the directions that you should always use the safety holder..that is not included. I see Amazon has corrected the image. The blades are very sharp and could easily slice fingers. I've used it so far for vegetables and for waffle fries and I'm impressed. I'm happy with the purchase. Customer Rating: Summary: Photo misleading - safety holder NOT included Comment: The slicer does a good job on making waffle cut potatoes, which is what I wanted, but the safety holder (shown in the photo of the item) is not included, and there is no warning that this must be bought separately. The first instruction is "Alway use safety holder," which is a good instruction, and therefore the buyer should be warned ahead of time that it is not included - or else the holder should not appear in the picture of the product. The potato goes into the slicer fairly easily to start, but it is rather difficult to get it to go all the way through for a complete slice. Perhaps if I had the safety holder, slicing would be easier. If you have another mandoline that uses the same safety holder, then you probably would not need to buy one, but unfortunately this was not the case for me. More Reviews B+RNER of Germany manufactures the finest quality vegetable slicers on the market today and are leading edge in design and technology. Their unique products help add creativity to any gourmet meal.Use the Wave Waffle Slicer to add interest to your favorit Choosing Appliance -> Spatulas Buy a sturdy stainless spatula for general uses and a Teflon spatula for your non-stick pan. In addition, buy a silicon baking spatula for scraping bowls. Silicon is an amazing substance which is heat resistant up to 550 degrees. Choosing Appliance -> Convection Ovens Convection ovens allow you to bake more foods (cookies, muffins, etc.) at once with even browning, but without the need to shift and rotate pans. A convection oven is the same as a conventional oven except a fan is installed in the back interior of the oven. The fan is used to blow and force the heat to circulate in the oven and around the food, thus eliminating the need to rotate and shift pans. In reality, though, even with the most expensive convection ovens, you will still need to rotate your foods, because there will always exist still hot spots in the cavity, because the cavity is small. Don't compare home convection ovens with most commercial convection ovens used by bakers and small food manufacturers, because their commercial ovens are much larger than home ovens and commercial ovens don't have any hot spots and therefore, there's no need to shift and rotate pans. Börner V-Wave Waffle Slicer Useful info -> Kitchen Design By custom, the sink is placed beneath a window, both to provide daylight for chores done there and to give one a view outdoors. I suppose the custom derives from the days before dishwashers, when the task of washing up was a tedious affair done by hand. Yet working at a sink with a window is still much more pleasant than working at a sink without one. Designers often place the sink first and lay out the rest of the work triangle from there |
