More on this product: Editorial Review | Description
Introduced in 2007, Accoutrements celebrates the old-fashioned beauty of the English garden. The extensive collection includes ironstone serving bowls, trays, pitchers, and other items showing full-blown roses on an antiqued ivory background; stainless-steel flatware embossed with flowers; and full-lead crystal wine glasses etched with delicate floral motifs that add sparkle to any table. Some of the ironstone pieces exhibit cream-colored filigree, either alone or in conjunction with the colorful flowers, allowing the pieces to mix and match with such Lenox patterns as Cornelia Cream and Charlotte Green. Accoutrement candle votives and lamps carry the vintage look, designed by Anna Griffin especially for Lenox, into other rooms in the house. While most of the pieces are dishwasher-safe, and the ironstone is also microwave-safe, the crystal is best washed by hand. Choosing Appliance -> Dishwasher Choose a dishwasher with sturdy compression springs in the door. Also look for tough, lightweight nylon or graphite racks with cushioned tips that protect glassware and cookware. Weimer recommends choosing a model with a rack design that provides the largest, most flexible interior space and is configured for your belongings, including odd-shaped pieces. Choosing Appliance -> Hobs If you enjoy eastern cuisine, you can buy a speciality hob with a wok burner. Similarly if you are a BBQ fan, choose a BBQ grill. If you are left handed, go for front rather than right hand side controls as this eliminates the risk of reaching across the heat. If you cook for a large family, more than four rings may be useful, and if you have young children it may be worth considering paying a little extra for a hob guard or in the case of gas, choosing an automatic re-ignition or cut off device should the flame blow out.
