Customer Reviews of Mario Batali Measuring Prep Bowls, Chianti
Customer Rating: Summary: Handy, cute, unbreakable -- everything I need in a prep bowl Comment: The title says it all. These bowls are in use everyday in my kitchen, and I rarely need anything bigger unless it's a regular, large mixing bowl (and I have plenty of those). I love the color, which is (as some have said) more brown the red. Customer Rating: Summary: Good value on a handy set Comment: I've had these bowls about a month and find myself reaching for them all the time - mainly to hold different ingredients I'll be using in a recipe. I love that they stack and take up very little storage space. They are well made and definitely worth $10. As someone else mentioned, the color is more brown than wine red so they aren't very pretty. Customer Rating: Summary: Bowl/measuring Cups Comment: Because the bowl/measuring cups stack they are easy to store and use. On top of that each bowl measures two amounts all the way down to 1/8 cup and up to 2 cups. They're great. In addition, if you simply want to use the 2 cup bowl to mix the wet ingredients it often is big enough. I'd like another set so I could throw away all my other odds and ends of sets of cups. Customer Rating: Summary: Very good prep bowls Comment: These prep bowls are great in that they not only hold all of your ingredients... but they have measurement markings within to help you. As well as nesting together for easy storage, they also wash up easily. The one complaint I have is that the Chianti color is more of a brown than a 'chianti wine' red. In the future I will stick with the beautiful pesto or penne color. Customer Rating: Summary: These are GREAT ! ! ! Comment: My mom has macular degeneration and can't see very well. She still likes to cook for us, but can't see to measure the ingrediants. I just measure them out for her in these bowls and she feels independent and needed again. More Reviews This great set of prep bowls is all you need for measuring and holding ingredients. One can never have too many prep bowls and these have measurements for added functionality. Made of durable melamine, the prep bowls each have full and half bowl measurements on the interior and exterior of the bowls. The bowls conveniently nest for space-saving storage. Chianti red. Set of 5: 1/8 cup, ¼ cup, ½ cup, 1 cup, and 2 cup capacities. Made of durable melamine with non-slip matte finish on exterior and smooth polished interior finish. Dishwasher safe. Choosing Appliance -> Non-stick Pans We recommend having at least 1 high quality non-stick saute pan. It makes cooking eggs and delicate items like fish a breeze. It also cuts down on the amount of fat necessary to effectively saute. The best place to buy such pans is from a restaurant supplier. Choosing Appliance -> Spatulas Buy a sturdy stainless spatula for general uses and a Teflon spatula for your non-stick pan. In addition, buy a silicon baking spatula for scraping bowls. Silicon is an amazing substance which is heat resistant up to 550 degrees. Mario Batali Measuring Prep Bowls, Chianti Tips How to Maintain Appliance -> Natural Granite Maintenance Granite must not be rubbed with abrasive materials instead, wash with clean warm water to which a non-abrasive light neutral detergent (PH7) may be added.
