Comment: After searching through all the reviews, and having purchased some other products from Pinzon, I decided to give this one a try. It does everything a shaker needs to do. There are no leaks when you shake a cocktail. The built in strainer works well. The recipe portion of the shaker is a neat gimmick, but I am not sure you would ever use it. Got it thinking it'd be alright for the cheap price, but it's horrible. The strainer clogs up, the stainless is so cheap it rusts (and I wash and dry immediately after use), the stainless is thin and can nearly cut you (think sheet metal with jagged ends), the etched recipes were half gone, the cylindricity of the shaker is poor (more oval than round), and several surface features existed upon receipt (smudges that don't clean up). Choosing Appliance -> Dishwashers Check the capacity. 'Standard' 60cm wide dishwashers can take 12, 14 or 16 place settings, whilst slimline 45cm models may cater for 7, 8 or 9 place settings. Compact dishwashers tend to be 45 cm wide and can be placed on the worktop or built in, depending on the model. They may take 4, 5 or 6 place settings. Choosing Appliance -> Knives The importance of high quality knives can't be stressed enough! Buy the best you can and expect to spend some serious money. It is better to buy a couple of excellent knives and slowly add to your collection rather than buying an entire set of low quality knives. Start with a chef knife and paring knife. Useful info -> Tips If you plan to install a dishwasher, place it close to the sink. Where you choose to put it might depend on whether you're right- or left-handed and on the path dishes are likely to take when cleared from the table. Also consider the choreography of two people loading and unloading the machine |
