Customer Reviews of Pinzon 5-Piece Stainless-Steel and Silicone Tool Set
Customer Rating: Summary: Okay for the money. Comment: It is okay for the money if you get it on sale, but the silver gets ugly very quick and I wouldn't buy it if i had known it gets that ugly so fast. Customer Rating: Summary: Wonderful set that can go from non-stick to stainless steel Comment: I really like this set because not only is it well made, but the tools easily go from non-stick cookware to stainless steel, and even glass. The red silicone matches so many other silicone utensils already in my kitchen, and the stainless steel looks elegant. My only complaint is I wish these had come with a decent utensil crock for easy storage on the counter top. Instead, I put them in a clear glass vase along with some other red silicone utensils and they look like a matching set on the counter. My favorite utensil in the set is the long handled silicone brush. It's perfect for applying bar-b-que sauce on grilled meat while keeping my hands far away from the heat. I haven't had the silicone come off (yet). The handles are easy to hold with the red silicone thumb grips. I suppose these also might look nice hung up, as they've included a little hook at the top of the handle. I don't expect this set to last forever however, because once the silicone begins to separate bacteria can begin to grow underneath. If you're looking for something to last longer, try the Trudeau Silicone Spatula - 600 Degrees Fahrenheit, Blue, 9 Inch, and the Trudeau All Silicone 10-Inch Basting Brush Red. Since they are both sealed and completely covered in silicone you won't have to be concerned with bacteria growing under the silicone seams and they'll withstand heat better than plastic utensils. I own both, and the Trudeau is a better heavy use product, but I haven't seen 100% silicone spoons and ladles yet. So far I've been happy with all my Pinzon purchases to date. Customer Rating: Summary: Silicone came off Comment: The silicone that covers the tip of one of the cooking ladles peeled off exposing an are in which food gets stuck. I do not know if Pinzon has a lifetime guarantee. I do like these ladles and would simply like a replacement set. Customer Rating: Summary: How did I cook without these??? Comment: I have all calphalon cookware, and these silicon tip utensils have made cooking a joy! I was always afraid to scratch my expenive pans, but now, I have no worries. If you are considering this utensil set, GET IT - it is cheap at twice the price, you won't regret this purchase! Customer Rating: Summary: Fun to look at and to use. Comment: They are kitchen utensils. They appear to be well made and are dishwasher safe. Very pleased with the quality. More Reviews Choosing Appliance -> Fridge / Freezers By law manufacturers must disclose the energy efficiency of their appliances, rated A to G. These are usually displayed prominently in showrooms. The better the rating, the more energy efficient the appliance is - good for both the environment and your pocket. Choosing Appliance -> Taps If you want a sink with large bowl dimensions to cope with big-pan washing-up, it is worth considering a tap with a pull-out or pull-down spray rinse. This gives you water anywhere you need it around the bowl area. Pinzon 5-Piece Stainless-Steel and Silicone Tool Set Useful info -> Dishwashers Energy efficiency is of paramount importance, not only to save money on electricity bills but also to help reduce power station emissions that contribute to global warming. Look for brands with low energy consumption (energy efficiency ratings will be displayed in the showroom). Levels are now as low as 1.3kW/hr on some slimline models largely because of reduced water consumption. A delay timer can help take advantage of cheap overnight electricity. |
