Customer Reviews of Pike Street Wine Corkscrew Opener
Customer Rating: Summary: Wine Bottle Opener Comment: Very disapointed with quality of the opener. Not what I expected. The metal is inferior and not heavy duty. It doesent do the job properly. Bottom Line!! It Sucks Customer Rating: Summary: Don't spend much for it! Comment: I also bought one for $2 and it is buried somewhere in my kitchen. I found it very difficult to use since it appears that the area where the main mechanism meets the outside guide is too loose... At $2 it wasn't worth the effort to return. Customer Rating: Summary: Shoddy Product Comment: From the adverts and pictures, the Pike Street Wine Corkscrew appeared to be a quality product with sound design features. On receiving the item, nothing could be further from reality. It looked more like a "free gift" item of very dubious quality and poor construction. The impression became even worse when we tried to use the corkscrew. What should have been a twist only operation proved to be almost incapable of extracting a wine bottle cork and then only by exerting immense effort. Possibly the worst product I have purchased for many years. Thankfully Amazons return policy provided for a full refund. Customer Rating: Summary: Kind of Complicated Comment: Doesn't look like it will last forever and it is not the easiest to figure out if you have never used one of it's time at any other time. For the price, though, it was worth it. Customer Rating: Summary: Could be nice... Comment: If it wasn't so flimsy. The idea is very cool -- the top piece rotates 90 degrees so that the cork gets pulled upwards after you reach the bottom, but the whole thing is poorly constructed so it doesn't always work properly. Its difficult to get the cork out of the opener once you actually get it out of the wine bottle. I bought 4 of them (4 for 3 promotion) and it was $6.xx shipped (amzn prime) though, so I'm not complaining ;) More Reviews Choosing Appliance -> Baking sheete Not too much romance here, but essential for any functional kitchen. Buy the heaviest pans possible. Also, you should consider buying a non-stick silicon sheet: they make baking very easy! Choosing Appliance -> Mixer Pretty much the same thoughts as the food processor. High quality mixers are great for making bread or other tough jobs. Every kitchen should have one. Be sure that any mixer has all three attachments: paddle, dough hook, and whip. Also, find a spot on the counter where it can be easily accessed at a moment's notice. Pike Street Wine Corkscrew Opener Useful info -> Energy-Efficient Appliances When you're shopping for appliances, you can think of two price tags. The first one covers the purchase price - think of it as a down payment. The second price tag is the cost of operating the appliance during its lifetime. You'll be paying on that second price tag every month with your utility bill for the next 10 to 20 years, depending on the appliance. Refrigerators last an average of 20 years; room air conditioners and dishwashers, about 10 years each; clothes washers, about 14 years. |
