Customer Reviews of MIU Plastic Pull String Salad Spinner
Customer Rating: Summary: Buying it again.... Comment: When I received an Oxo brand salad spinner as a gift, I foolishly gave away the trusty MIU salad spinner that I had owned for years. To my dismay, the Oxo spinner didn't spin anywhere near as fast as the MIU spinner... meaning lettuce leaves were still covered in water. And to add insult to injury, the Oxo spinner was clunky, hard to store, and despite the size, didn't fit anywhere near as many leaves of lettuce. Needless to say, salads because an infrequent visitor at my dinner table and my kids were whining for more salad. So, I dumped the Oxo salad spinner and bought another brand of salad spinner which was on sale for cheap. My bad. It was slightly better than the Oxo, but nowhere near as good as my old MIU spinner. I couldn't find another MIU anywhere... and I was going broke buying packages of prewashed lettuce. Then and one day it occured to me to check Amazon.com and, BINGO!, Thanks, Amazon! I am going to save soooooo much money now that I don't have to buy prewashed lettuce anymore. Customer Rating: Summary: The best spinner Comment: I've been searching for one like this to replace one that I wore out. These are the best salad spinners out there! Customer Rating: Summary: Liked it so much we bought another! Comment: We liked this spinner that we had to get another. Our first one, that was many years old, finally met it's demise after dropping to the ceramic floor. It was bound to happen. We went to Bed Bath and Beyond and looked, purchased and returned one of those new fancy OXO ones. Found this on line and ordered it. It works beautifully. Customer Rating: Summary: I'd buy it again Comment: I bought this because I'd been wanting to try a salad spinner, but didn't want to spend a lot. I've used it several times, and it works quite well; dries quickly and doesn't seem to bruise the produce. And- I then can use the bowl for the salad! The pull tucks neatly into the lid, lid seems snug to the spinner, plenty of spaces for the water to drain through, and the strainer sits enough away from the surrounding bowl to keep the produce from touching the water that's spun out. My only concern is the material that the bowl is made from seems like it might crack easily if dropped. Otherwise, no complaints on this purchase. More Reviews MIU France plastic pull string salad spinner, item number 487. This multi-functional salad bowl / spinner / storage bowl is a perfect addition to any kitchen. Both the lid and colander are removable for easy cleaning. The clear plastic bowl keeps the salad crisp and clean until ready to serve. This salad spinner stores on the countertop or in the frigde easily. It can be used to clean vegetables, fruits, berries and herbs. Pull the cord gently when using it with berries to retain the shape. Pull string retracts into the lid to avoid unnecessary tangling of the cord. The pull tab locks into place on top of the lid for storage. Dishwasher safe. Measures: 10" L x 10" W x 5.25" H Choosing Appliance -> Fridge / Freezers A large number of freezers have eliminated defrosting by continually circulating the air inside the freezer compartment, thus avoiding frost build-up -- a feature well worth paying a little extra for. Choosing Appliance -> Non-stick Pans We recommend having at least 1 high quality non-stick saute pan. It makes cooking eggs and delicate items like fish a breeze. It also cuts down on the amount of fat necessary to effectively saute. The best place to buy such pans is from a restaurant supplier. MIU Plastic Pull String Salad Spinner Useful info -> Built-in Ovens Built-under ovens may be single or double cavity and also need a separate hob. Double cavity ovens are essential if you want to cook one dish and grill another at the same time. |
