Customer Rating: Summary: Best peeler I've ever used!! Comment: I've been A professional Chef for the past 25 years. I was turned on to this peeler 15 years ago and nothing has compared since. Every chef that has ever used my peeler would buy one. They are sharp and stay sharp, and they glide with ease. Every tool box needs one. Customer Rating: Summary: best peeler ever Comment: this is the best peeler period. i have used many over my years of working as a professional chef and have always come back to this one. bang for your buck, pound for pound the undisputed champion of peelers. They have raised the price. it used to be 2.99 but still worth every penny More Reviews A best seller for more than 20 years, the Original Swiss Peeler's popularity shows no signs of slowing down. The super sharp carbon steel blade digs into foods without slipping so you can work quickly and effortlessly. Small and light, it even tackles hard jobs like winter squash. Includes a handy potato eye remover on one side. Choosing Appliance -> Food Processor This is a big ticket item, but worth its weight in gold. It will save so much time when it comes to simple chopping or more advanced preparations like mayonnaise. As with most things, buy quality-- it will last longer, be capable of tougher jobs, and give you less problems. To make the food processor easiest to use, leave it on the counter top instead of storing it in a cabinet. Choosing Appliance -> Convection Ovens Convection ovens allow you to bake more foods (cookies, muffins, etc.) at once with even browning, but without the need to shift and rotate pans. A convection oven is the same as a conventional oven except a fan is installed in the back interior of the oven. The fan is used to blow and force the heat to circulate in the oven and around the food, thus eliminating the need to rotate and shift pans. In reality, though, even with the most expensive convection ovens, you will still need to rotate your foods, because there will always exist still hot spots in the cavity, because the cavity is small. Don't compare home convection ovens with most commercial convection ovens used by bakers and small food manufacturers, because their commercial ovens are much larger than home ovens and commercial ovens don't have any hot spots and therefore, there's no need to shift and rotate pans.
