Customer Reviews of KitchenAid FGA Food Grinder Attachment for Stand Mixers
Customer Rating: Summary: Sturdy, easy to use and clean Comment: The food grinder attachment was easy to assemble and attach, and the instructions were clear. When run on 4, as the instructions advised, it ground quickly and evenly. I've ground beef and lamb through it with no problems. You do have to actively shove the meat down into the unit with the plunger; its design makes it very safe and easy to do so, but with the attachment mounted above the mixer it's a little awkward if you're reaching up to do this for very long. Next time I might try setting the mixer on the kitchen table to lower the overall height, but I don't think this would be a major problem unless you were very short (I'm 5'6") or had a *lot* of grinding to do. The attachment disassembles easily for an easy, thorough cleaning; the tip someone provided of running a couple of pieces of bread through at the end really does help with clean up. Overall I am very satisfied and would highly recommend this attachment, and it provides yet another reason that I would recommend the Kitchenaid mixer line as well. Customer Rating: Summary: Works better than expected Comment: I bought this food grinder attachment to replace an old self contained food grinder and this is much better than my other food grinder. I mainly us it to grind my own chicken burger. It is faster, easier to clean and does a better job at grinding the fresh chicken breasts. I would recommend it to anyone with a KitchenAid stand mixer. Customer Rating: Summary: DEMASIADO BUENO. Comment: LO UNICO QUE TENGO QUE HACER ES CONECTAR EL MOLINO DE ALIMENTOS A MI BATIDORA Y MOLER TODA CLASE DE CARNES, YO LO USO MAS QUE TODO PARA MOLER POLLO Y PAVO, DEMASIADO BUENO. Customer Rating: Summary: Bought it as a gift.... Comment: I got it as a gift for a good friend of mine. She had been wanting one for a while. She seems to enjoy it. First thing she used it for was to make ground beef for chili, which was delicious. She said it worked great and had no complaints other than that it was difficult and gross to clean. But I guess I would expect this from something that grinds meat. Apparently if you use it to grind bread afterwards it gets all of the unwanted leftover flesh out of the grinder. But I guess from what she said I would consider buying one for my kitchenaid and therefore would recommend it to others. Customer Rating: Summary: best use for making jams Comment: Love this attachment for making apricot jam. My daughter has one and we have been exchanging back & forth for about 5 years, I finally realized I needed one of my own. The only way to go!! More Reviews Food grinder attachment for all Kitchen Aid stand mixers Choosing Appliance -> Hobs If you enjoy eastern cuisine, you can buy a speciality hob with a wok burner. Similarly if you are a BBQ fan, choose a BBQ grill. If you are left handed, go for front rather than right hand side controls as this eliminates the risk of reaching across the heat. If you cook for a large family, more than four rings may be useful, and if you have young children it may be worth considering paying a little extra for a hob guard or in the case of gas, choosing an automatic re-ignition or cut off device should the flame blow out. Choosing Appliance -> KitchenAid FGA Food Grinder Attachment for Stand Mixers Tips How to Maintain Appliance -> Hob and grill cooking Modern appliances reach higher temperatures quicker - and often hold heat longer. To avoid worktop damage, follow both the appliance manufacturers instructions and these rules:
