Summary: Good item - if you will use them!
Comment: I have used this product, and I have enjoyed using it. The only complaint is with the slicer/grater, some of the food gets stuck between the blades and the attachment, and the food does not get grated/sliced. If this is your main use of the machine - a food processor would work better. The grinder and strainer work great. Apples and pears worked great... all I had to do is cut the fruit into pieces that would fit through the grinder, cooked them down some to become soft, and put them through... the pulp came out free of peel, stem and seeds... how great! I have also used the grinder to grind up venison meat... I did put it through twice, but it worked great.

Summary: This made Applesauce like a pro! I love it!
Comment: I used the attachment for making sauce and made loads of applesauce. It worked really well and I'd recomend it to anyone. The price I found here at Amazon was the BEST by far!

Summary: Basically doesn't work
Comment: I got this for making applesauce, and it doesn't: the main problem seems to be that the auger doesn't go all the way back, so part of the material gets behind it. That probably doesn't matter so much if it's soft material, but something firm like an apple basically plugs up the feed tube so you can't get more in.

Summary: so-so
Comment: I need to replace my food processor and decided that the attachments to my Kitchen Aid mixer would do the trick; however, it only half does the trick. The slicer and grinder seem to work fine on the things that I have tried but the shredder has been somewhat of a disaster. Not what I was expecting. Cabbage and zucchini seems to get caught between the cone and the main housing thus coming out in chunks.

Summary: LOVE IT!
Comment: I recently purchased this set and I LOVE IT! I made my first 3 batches of homemade applesauce from fresh-from-the-orchard apples and canned around 25 quarts! The fruit/veggie strainer made it SOOOOOO easy! I just boiled the apples until they were soft, put them through the strainer/grinder attachment and basically what comes out it applesauce! You can add cinnamon and/or sugar if you want, but no other work needed! It was awesome, you don't even need to peel or core the apples, just slice them, cook them and that's IT! I have 3 children under the age of 5 and there is no way I could use a hand crank food mill to make it, but with these attachments, it's really, really easy! I will probably be using it again to make baby food!

Choosing Appliance -> Dishwasher
Choose a dishwasher with sturdy compression springs in the door. Also look for tough, lightweight nylon or graphite racks with cushioned tips that protect glassware and cookware. Weimer recommends choosing a model with a rack design that provides the largest, most flexible interior space and is configured for your belongings, including odd-shaped pieces.
Choosing Appliance -> Sinks
Consider which accessories might be beneficial. Many models can be supplied with a draining basket, chopping board and strainer bowls. A drainer extension can be useful for sinks without a drainer where worktop space is limited in a small kitchen.

Tips How to Maintain Appliance -> Maximize the efficiency of appliances
You can also maximize the efficiency of appliances you already own through regular maintenance and tune-ups and system upgrades. Examples of some things that you can do are:
  • Check air filters in heating and cooling systems monthly during the seasons they are in use and clean and replace them as necessary.
  • Clean air vents, baseboards, and radiators regularly and keep them unrestricted by furniture, carpets, or drapes.
  • Release trapped air from hot water radiators once or twice a season by opening the valve until nothing but water comes out.
  • Follow prescribed maintenance (e.g., maintaining certain water levels in steam heat systems).
  • Install an insulating jacket on your hot water heater, insulate hot water pipes, and lower the water heater temperature.
  • Clean refrigerator coils yearly and maintain internal temperatures between 36 degrees F (2.2 degrees C) and 38 degrees F (33 degrees C) for the refrigerator compartment and between 0 degrees F (17.8 degrees C) and 5 degrees F (15.0 degrees C) for the freezer compartment.
  • Move the refrigerator if it is currently located near the stove or dishwasher.
  • Regularly defrost refrigerators that do not have a completely automatic defrost capability to eliminate ice build-up on interior coils.
  • Clean dryer filters after each use or as necessary.
